We see itas being saved by Grace alone, thru faith alone, how does repentance factor in?
Have you ever studied the word repentance and its uses in scripture?
Bingo! When one turns to Christ they are simultaneously turning from self, which is the very definition of repentance, to turn.Repentance and faith are two sides of the same coin. Faith entails repentance. I put my faith in Christ so I stop putting my faith in idols.
Being saved by faith alone is repentance, so #1 is a false dichotomy. View 2 and 1 are intertwined. View 3 is Lordship Salvation.Think where the confusion come in is that we seem to have 3 main views on this! More akin to Free Grace view
view 1 is that it does NOT factor in at all, as we are saved thru faith alone
view 2 is that it factors in by the truth that a sinner must agree with God that he is a sinner and only jesus can save Him, so a repentance from trying to save ourselves, and trusting in Christ alone to save us! My position!
View 3 is that a sinner must repent forsale all known sin when receiving jesus, so more akin to a lordship view!

That is not the Lordship view. That, however is a misrepresenation of the Lordship view.
Not according to MacArthur. He says its an exchange. That is not the Lordship view. That, however is a misrepresenation of the Lordship view.
Sounds like something you would read in The Gospel According To Jesus.Did not say was that view, but that it was a'sort" of that view, akin to it!
I have had someone who espoused that view state that the person needs to forsake/repent of all known sin before oming to Jesus, as that act shows true repentance!

with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
OK. I've been over this before and provided his own words. You can think his barter system is legit, not me.:wavey:You do not know what you are talking about.
