In general the KJV has the better textual reading than the so called CT or NU. It has a few textual readings which are not the better readings. By keeping the th pronouns we can tell the singular pronouns from the plural. I used the italics to show translator interpertation.

Words ending in -est or -st you can just drop for the modern word. Words ending in -eth or -th substitute s ending.

Takest = Take.
Believeth = Believes.

In some circles, the choice of what bibles one chooses for oneself is the only expression of free will in an otherwise deterministic environment.

Other - the KJV is a great translation. But the purpose was to give people (specifically the Church of England) a translation in the vernacular.

The KJV is not a good English translation - NOT because of the translation but because the English language has changed.

I just "love" it when someone says "My 8 year-old can understand the KJV - esp since the KJV is considered -overall - at least on a 12th grade level

I like the KJV because I grew up with it as the primary Bible that was being preached and taught from. I do use other translations..but I'm KJV preferred.

So you like the KJV because you’re comfortable with it.

I switch versions frequently so I don’t get comfortable with it.

I'm pretty comfortable with any of them...I've even used the "hippie" Bible...God can use anything that puts forth his message. :)
If you switch versions frequently, that's your decision, and I applaud you..at least you're staying "in the word!" Blessings.

I was just thinking of something else... I said I'm strict KJV not KJVO... But I've heard those who go to other translations whine, the KJV is archaic its out of date, the words are to hard, there are other words that clarify it more and make it clearer to those I say, you never heard of a dictionary or concordance?... I have been studying one Bible all my life the KJV and it has taken me all my life to study just one... The theologians of the past have used the KJV... I have heard the slings and arrows about the KJV and unless your Bible bleeds blood and my KJV doesn't, there is no translation under the sun that saves a man eternally... Its The Living Gospel Jesus Christ... Brother Glen:)

Yeah some brethren on here seem to be a little wordy (okay a lot wordy)... Just a thought... Salty needs to start a forum on just sermons and he can transfer the wordy brethren there... Brother Glen;)
Why dont you start it?

... The theologians of the past have used the KJV...

And theologians of the past went to bed about 6 or 7 pm because it got dark and there was no electricity. So since those theologians were very effective in spite of no electricity back in 1611 - then why do we need electricity
