Why not address my analysis. Are you affiliated with Lockman Foundation?
perhaps.
you apparently think there's no substantive difference in the words selected by the latest Lockman effort ... so what's the point? Why not address my analysis.
Sir, you still address a new topic rather than my observations. But, oh well, the idea of the revisions is this verse (Isaiah 53:5) seems to be to replace obsolete words or words that have fallen into disuse.you apparently think there's no substantive difference in the words selected by the latest Lockman effort ... so what's the point?
perhaps.
words mean things and when reviewing those selected to replace the previous, there needs to be a valid reason ... like the translation effort before was in error.
Is the NASB 77 in error with the word selection in the translation to english from the appropriate originals?
Sir, you still address a new topic rather than my observations
I have tried to discuss the NASB20 but to no avail. Punishment includes chastening.with all due respect ... I addressed no new topic. My topic is the NASB2020's need to exist. I find it not only doesn't need to exist but fails to accurately handle God's Word. Blue Letter Bible in the very passages I references, and there are hundreds of others ... clearly show the NASB2020 changes the meaning of the original Hebrew/Greek (as appropriate)
PERHAPS I was too subtle in my initial reply, but your allowing for a different interpretation of meaning in the replaced words is problematic. Those you cite, and I offered, are precisely the problem with NASB2020
Chastening is punishment, but punishment is not chastening. Ditto for the others.
I have tried to discuss
Folks, I have presented my analysis of the NASB20 changes to Isaiah 53:5 (see post 64) and Two Wings has said taint so, but also offered insult (standing for nothing) and error (Chastening is NOT punishment). Nuff said...discussion involves a paragraph of thesis, consideration, rebuttal ... evidence.
loosely defined, you've posted your evidence. I have rebutted that evidence as your allowance of equal definition is in error.
Chastening is NOT just punishment.
You appear to allow for the objection, but then stop short of declaring your opinion as to whether you agree.
So I'm not really sure where you are on it other than like a political moderate ... standing for nothing.
If the offering doesn't accurately handle God's Word, then clearly it is to be rejected. I find the NASB2020 is THIS.
Could you please come up with another trite phrase? You have used that one almost 500 times already. No exaggeration.taint so
Agreed, as we have more then enough english translations, but still need to get all of the languages on dearth covered!well ... and that we apparently feel the need to impose our world view on these subsequent efforts while the english LANGUAGE remains static ... unlike the 400 years between the KJV and the Revised.
we don't need more english translations, we need The Word in more languages.
Would like to know why they did not wish to support the Lsb and instead went for their 2020 Nas!Are you affiliated with Lockman Foundation?
perhaps.
You meant that there is a dearth of Bible translations internationally. Dearth means there is a lack of something. In other words, an inadequate supply. We have more than enough English translations.Agreed, as we have more then enough english translations, but still need to get all of the languages on dearth covered!
Yes, but still have the need to have more translations made into "native tongues" needed to hear the Gospel of Lord Jesus! You meant that there is a dearth of Bible translations internationally. Dearth means there is a lack of something. In other words, an inadequate supply. We have more than enough English translations.
Duh. Read the posts you quote. And skip the exclamation marks. They are pointless.Yes, but still have the need to have more translations made into "native tongues" needed to hear the Gospel of Lord Jesus!
If the gang of Calvinists stop posting taint so posts and start addressing the content of my posts, the valid observations will decrease.Could you please come up with another trite phrase? You have used that one almost 500 times already. No exaggeration.
The above is an illogical mess.If the gang of Calvinists stop posting taint so posts and start addressing the content of my posts, the valid observations will decrease.
