Stop acting so skeptical Joseph. You are going to find yourself part of a diminishing minority very soon.

Since then we've done squat with no end in sight.
Your only news source must be someone like Al Franken. If you don't know the truth about what we are accomplishing in helping the Iraqi people, then I suggest you come out of the hole in the ground you are apparently living in with other other losers from last November's elections. </font>
No, but I like how you guys keep trying to push all of these liberal sterotypes on anyone who disagrees with you. For the millionth time I am a conservative and a registered republican who voted for Bush. </font>
For whom did you vote in 04?

Joseph Botwinick
</font>
Bush, both times.
</font>
Then, you, my friend, voted to continue the war in Iraq.

Please stop rhetorically spitting in the faces of our troops!!!!

We are not in over our heads. You need to stop believing the liberal claptrap.
</font>
Ok, would you find Rumsfelds latest comments that this occupation could take up to 12 years to be in over our headS?

Which means the difference between me and you is that I can admit making a mistake.

Nope. The difference between you and me is that I don't believe we made a mistake. I have nothing to admit since I am not denying anything to myself.

Oh, let's see pictures of the flag-draped coffins. Let's send the press to every American and allied funeral. Let's have a body count again on tv. The press is so sensitive and so balanced. Let's let them do what they comes natural to them. They agree with the CP.
My point is that we DON'T see pictures. The Administration has put a blackout on them. The Constitution and First Amendment Rights are goners.

Let's capitulate. Let's don't win. We capitulated in Korea and the only drawback was atomic bombs in the north. We capitulated in Viet Nam and the only drawback was that some non-Americans were murdered by the communists by the millions. If we capitulate in Iraq, the only drawback with be an Arab bloothbath in Iraq but it will be a while before the next Nine Eleven and we can be rich and happy again.
There will be an Arab bloodbath in Iraq no matter if we pull out tomorrow or 12 years from now. True Islam and True Democracy are like mixing oil and water. They are opposites.

Oh wait, and then there was this little election thing...no big deal, right? And then there are the schools that have been built, electricity provided, and water...but, who really cares about the suffering that has been lessened for the Iraqi people, right?
Only temporarily. When the Civil War happens in Iraq, all of our infrastructure endeavors will be of little consequence; they'll be destroyed.

What about the Iraqi security forces we have trained which are starting to take control of their own country's destiny and giving them more and more soveriegnty all the time?
Yes, we are teaching them well, supplying them with arms and equipment and technology, so they can:

a) Turn on us at some point in the future.
b) Invade Israel some day.

Do you realize how that sounds? Wars come to an end because of "negotiation".
We were negotiating with terrorists in the heat of the battle - Fallujah, remember?

And you can't be telling me your huge military didn't beat little old Vietnam because of a bunch of politicians???
Yes, because they had to follow the orders of those same politicians - DOD and POTUS. They were ordered to take a hill or village, etc., and then give it back. It was a theme often repeated in the Vietnam War. You can Google to find out more of the mechanics. Ultimately, the politicians have too much authority over the military generals.

You have to realize how that sounds.
Yes, unfortunately the truth sometimes sounds pretty outlandish.

LE
What about them? If you think all of our brave men and women around the globe should come home to protect the border you clearly are not thinking rationally. The war at home is not with illegal aliens but with people (regardless of their claimed political affiliation) who undermine our military, our President and spread their venom at whatever cost. I would enjoy seeing some of them deported.
You must be unaware of how many illegal aliens have left their prayer rugs and Qurans on our southern border. You must be unaware how many jihadists live among us - those who perhaps entered legally on visas, but whose whereabouts are now unknown as they have blended in among us never to be found by Immigration again. Yes, the terrorists live among us. There are probably some attending your nearest University or mosque.

This blind devotion to a mere man who says he's a conservative...yet I've heard many conservatives say is too liberal for them...is frightening eh?

The same blind devotion will be given to the antichrist who will have the sheeple in his grasp hook, line and sinker.
Absolutely. That is exactly what I keep thinking. How easy the deception will be! All someone has to do to get the Christian Evangelical vote is to give lip service and say the right key words and he/she gets undying support. Is the anti-Christ going to appear on the scene and announce that he is the anti-Christ? Doubtful. But what if he did? No one would believe him. He wins the deception either way.

And I am getting sick and tired of people like you rhetorically spitting in the faces of our troops who are protecting your rear so you and the rest of the losers from last November can even post on this board.
And I am getting sick and tired of people like you rhetorically spitting in the face of our United States Constitution. The real losers are the American taxpayers who have elected such people who are bent on a One World Government.
How arrogant of us to assume we can go around the globe tearing down and rebuilding hostile nations in our image.
Except they are not in our image. That is a pretense. We are tearing down and rebuilding hostile nations in the image of Islam. Shudder.

FACT there are many foreigners who would do about anything to become an American and live in our beautiful country and receive an American education.

maybe you could tell us why you voted for President Bush? Please share with us anything positive you feel has come from Iraq and Afghanistan? Perhaps people would not assume you were a liberal if you did not echo their typical rhetoric venom. ;)

Looks like I was right. No tips on where to go so that I could be "enlightened" to the stuff conservatives are privy to. Just as I figured. :(

Joseph...if you haven't made a mistake then why are you not demanding your President send troops to every place on the planet where terrorism is rampant? I think I know why. Cause there ain't no oil in them there parts right?

You are correct, Joseph. Of our total oil imports the amount of oil from Iraq is about 5.25% of the total.

I say: "FACT. You are opposed to them immigrating to. By the way, I don't care how many people want to live there. I may too...I just will not become a citizen. And I never said your country wasn't beautiful. In fact, I have said the opposite more than one time on this board. Not my fault you choose to ignore that FACT. :(

1) Al Qaeda attacked us, not other terrorists. If any of these other terrorists hook up with al Qaeda then we will destroy them, too.

2) Typical liberal claptrap.

That's just it. It's not venom. I'm not filled with hatred for anything except this unjust war. There is absolutely no reason for us to be there.

I was optimistic that we would succeed. I was optimistic even after it became clear that there were no WMD's. Even after the motives for this war came into question I was optimistic.

At this point I realise that Bush didn't know what he was getting into. I think we should all be able to agree on that. I do not think we should be committing indefinite amounts of American lives to this endeavor. A line has got to be drawn. Unfortunately I fear we will have to wait until 2008.

King James you better watch out for LE if you come over to our beautiful country illegally.

I also do not recall sharing my views on immigration with you. Maybe you could tell Joseph what exactly you are looking for concerning correct information.
