It will show that I care what people might conclude about my character of patriotism if I were seen supporting a brand like a billboard that defiantly disrespects our flag.

This may come as a shock to you but I believe the value of patriotism overrides the value of a few bucks for clothes that might imply I stand behind those that disrespect our flag.

Own the CHARACTER. :Wink

Were you patriotic enough to serve?

you've got to keep in mind that this company is based in a Portlandia suburb, uses cheap foreign labor extensively, and their target demo is younger and more urban and they support Kap and his stupid causes.

It sure can't be for his looks, but Nike loves to virtue signal. As for Kap, dumb thing is suing the NFL for "collusion" even though Pete was going to sign him as a backup for the Seahawks and Horseface made him an offer as a starter, but Colin is greedy. Just whine about it.

Pete Carrol was going to name Kaepernick the starter over Wilson? I really don’t think that is true. I really don’t think Kaepernick was the smartest cookie to lead this but he did start it. Others however, have done a far better job at getting the message across. I just find the twisting of the intent to be blatantly disingenuous and cowardly.

Last Nike product I bought was some shoes eight years ago. They were okay.

No no no, Horseface did that. Wilson is just too good. Wait, maybe Elway didn't offer him the starting job:

Elway: Kap had chance to be Bronco, 'passed'

I don't know, sounds like a left-wing Tebow now - "if I don't start as QB, I don't play".

Yes $3B in market value lost. Out of $127B total market value. Big deal.

NKE is up in after market trading.

Sent from my Pixel 2 XL

They have done market research. They have decided risky or not to go after certain demographics. I believe they are confident in the direction. Short term reaction but long term relationships with active players and spokespeople across every major sport.

yeah, it went up like .34 in after-hours trading so far, still, that's a loss of about 1.5 percent over night.

Nike is a enormous company, boycotting something that big usually doesn't work instantly, if at all.

Zactly. Signing that buffoon as a spokesman just turns me off, but this did get Nike back in the news and many say there's no such thing as negative publicity.

We shall see. We definitely know who the neverTrumers are rooting for.
I'm not a never Trumper..
I'm not rooting for Nike.
I'm not a fan of Kaepernick.
I don't care what happens to their stock.

I just feel compelled to speak up against stupidity.

My first expectation of Kaep will be that he inquire to Nike about their issues with women and the allegations of their sweatshop style production overseas. This is more about capitalism than social justice. I think most people can see this.

Yeah, this is a little different than the Target fiasco. Nike is setting itself against our soldiers and our police officers. I predict they lose this one. It's gonna be interesting.

The Broncos seem pretty fed up with Kap, that's over.

Nike nike nike, they're NO stranger to controversy. Like UoT said, they've been under fire for some time about their exploitation of the Third World, and they want to distract the public from:

https://www.bizjournals.com/portlan...-the-nike-lawsuit-allegations-of-groping.html

seems like a hotbed of sexism, if true.

News to me. I've never known about a Nike controversy. That alone tells me this one is different.

But you might be right. We'll see.

Nobody is setting themselves against Soldiers and police officers. That is a bold faced lie. That is the tactic used to try and hide from addressing the actual point of the protest. Full stop.

Yeah those "cops are pigs" socks were really just a gesture of endearment. And refusing to stand for the flag really just oozes love and respect for the military.
