Yeah those "cops are pigs" socks were really just a gesture of endearment. And refusing to stand for the flag really just oozes love and respect for the military.

The socks were dumb and Kaepernick is a terrible choice to lead the protest. The protest has nothing to do with veterans. It’s just a tired tactic.

There are players who have stepped up and do a much better job at communicating the causes. Malcom Jenkins is everything that Kaepernick isn’t. Kaepernick will get credit for starting the movement though.

We agree, but Kaep is not dumb. He knew exactly what he as doing. He hates the police and military and everything else about America, except the capitalism he capitalizes on.

No he doesn’t. I don’t think he is that smart either. He didn’t even vote. He’s actually taken time to meet with veterans.

But he doesn't stand for them. If you agree with him, by all means kneel away. I'll show respect by standing.

Join the Army or something hero. The National Anthem is a National Anthem not a veterans anthem. This country is for everybody in it. Not just veterans.

I’’ll never understand the mentality that Soldiers died for our rights but people shouldn’t exercise them. That literally goes against everything they were fighting for. We aren’t fascist here.

This could also be used to justify flag burning. This is also a right. Does that mean you "should" do it? Is this a way to show respect to soldiers?

It's interesting you only recognize Kaep's right to kneel, but don't recognize the right of others to criticize him.

I never criticized anyone rights to criticize him. Never. That is another bold faced lie. I will call out lies and there are many posted about this situation. Mostly by you.

My first expectation of Kaep will be that he inquire to Nike about their issues with women and the allegations of their sweatshop style production overseas. This is more about capitalism than social justice. I think most people can see this.
Ha!

He will never confront Nike on those issues.
That’s why he’s a hypocrite.

I see him as a low-grade quarterback trying to keep his name alive. I see Nike as one of the truly evil corporations, literally talking out of both sides of their mouths for decades.

I can’t stand football and I don’t see many Nikes in the 2nd hand shops where I buy clothes. So I have no dog in the fight.

You know what. I don’t particularly disagree with anything you said here. I’ve always said that the biggest problem with Kaepernick was that he had the courage to do this but lacked the ability and intelligence to effectively communicate the intent. I.e the whole sock thing was incredibly stupid and ultimately self defeating for his own cause. He has made effort in that regards but others like Malcom Jenkins have done a much better job of doing that part than Kaep. Again, Kaep just gets the credit because he started it. Nike is no hero here and I believe I’ve pretty much said that.

Thanks for that gesture Curtis. I know we’ve ended up on opposite side of things lately but I’ve always liked your integrity in your posting.

I’m on your side on this one. I put most of the blame for this on Trump’s ignorant tweets on the subject. There’s really no good guy in this fight.

There really isn’t a good guy here. Here’s the next step though. I believe that part of this marketing campaign is that Nike is absolutely counting on Trump to help them publicize this. I really believe that Nike is operating from a point of capitalism here and not true social justice. If I was Trump I’’d leave it alone.

That is such a ridiculous and laughably overdramatic picture. It’s been amazing how the narrative has extended to the troops when it was never about the troops. It’s about the status of the country in their view. I can’t stand when people try to hide behind veterans as a means to shut down conversation. It’s gross.

Sadly, some people turn a blind eye to the very dramatic sacrifices made for our flag in order to support the agenda of political propagandising goal of implying racism with those who have no other policies to stand on by the means and at the expense of disrespecting our flag and country. That said, it is not surprising that those who support Liberal Globalist agendas would willingly and with great enthusiasm defend the dishonorable practices of those who despise Nationalism while they attempt to justify these politically staged actions by joining in on insinuating that our country is full of racists which revealingly adds to their display of deranged hatred for our country because of the current leadership which is shutting down the Globalists’ agenda of forming a one world dictatorship.

I am all for freedom of speech but these kinds of tools being used by Left are a disgraceful display of anti-patriotism made on the backs of the sacrifices of the very people that afforded them the right to have that freedom of speech. The picture I posted can be perceived several ways but there is no getting past the image of the ungratefulness displayed by spoiled political activists who squat on and dishonor the great sacrifices it took to make this country free and sovereign.

It is a shameful and reprehensible way of action to dishonor our great flag and has no valid justifiable reasons wherein I would ever accept it as defensible because of some half-baked claim of our country being racists which in truth is for the purpose of division and swaying others toward the Liberal Globalists’ agenda, its scandalous purpose is nothing less than disgraceful disrespect toward our country.

The truth is it is about the troops that defended the honor of our flag! If you find this "gross", good:

Your hero thinks POW’s are losers. You are willing to let him get away with that. That whole phony patriotic missive falls apart that easily. This isn’t about your love for the military. You looked the other way when your character demanded attention. It’s unforgiveable to me. This is about your love for partisan brinksmanship. You aren’t fooling me. Again, your patriotism didn’t prevent you from serving did it? I can see through it very, very easily.

You speak in pure hypocrisy, it is about honor of country for me and you merely unwittingly confirm your poor values of patriotism and that you are willing to cast that aside because it is about supporting your politics.

I served my country oh great courageous keyboard patriot. Your President thinks POW’s are losers. I’m just going to keep saying it and watch you continue to ignore it. Did you serve? Keep ducking these questions while you flail to call me a hypocrite while blatantly masking your own.

Every time you say your foolishness you continue to unwittingly confirm your disgraceful support of disrespecting our flag is about your political hatred of our president. That is the truth of what it is about for you and you are willing to throw our flag under the bus to defend your pathetic agendas.

...and yes I did serve but that has nothing to do with the issue of me respecting my country of which I would have been willing to pay the price for protecting it alongside the heroes who gave their all. I respected our flag before I served and respect it today.

Your President says that POW’s are losers and you haven’t served your country. And you let him get away with it. You turn your back on the guys in the very picture you are so proud of. At least I have the stomach to weigh in on that issue instead of cowering away from it so that you can support your pathetic agendas and rank hypocrisy.

Try and address my statements if you dare. It’s the last shot at saving your credibility. I doubt you will or even can. It always comes down to Trump with you people. Who I have barely even mentioned in this thread.
