Why don't you educate yourself on how to gain control of a corporation through recapitalization? Pay particular attention to exchanges of preferred stock for common stock.

If the taxpayers own stock in a company, and it turns around, the stock appreciates. We can then sell for a profit. Buy low, sell high. But the problem is there is no guarantee it will appreciate.
That's right. Czar Obama wants to control every aspect of our lives because he hates our country and all of the freedoms we have historically stood for, IMO. Some of us could add 2+2 BEFORE the election and know what he was about so his leap to socialism is no surprise. I shudder to think what is coming down the pike for the nation once known as America, Land of the Free and the Brave.

What's your point. I think government ownership is government. Bush started us on that path not your most hated President.

I have personally seen many of the "conservatives" here post harsh negatives re: Bush, so what does that have to do with what "0" is doing now??????
"0" is now pOTUS, not Bush, and if it was bad for Bush to do it, how can you mix up your priorities and now approve "0" doing the same thing - only more intensely. Seems that your ONLY goal is to excuse the "0" regardless of his actions; no matter the facts.

Excellent Job Matt... I haven't seen back peddling like Carpro here in sometime. Conversion of the stock alone has nothing to do with socialism but the right is doing all they can to make Obama into an evil monster.
My question is why no one see's this as an opportunity for the tax payers to recoup their investments in these banks with interest. I will say this to the right, if we the tax payers end up getting more in return than we invested by 2012 you can bet Obama will be you're president another 4 years. Say what you will right now, but only time will tell.
Also note, if American's were going to be scared by this socialism attack, Obama would not have been voted in after Joe the Plumber. Why is it you guys can see no one is listening to all these "isms you accuse him of".

Simple. Some people, including some on the BB, are so enamored with the O, they are blind. Some people wanted to have a first black president for one reason or another, no matter what his true colors are. Some people wanted a "youthful" president, including some of the youth, no matter what his substance or lack thereof. Some people will vote for the party no matter who the nominee is. Some people hated Bush and the Republicans so much they were determined to give them the boot, not because they were enamored with the O, but because of their hatred towards Bush. But the truth is seeping out in the first 100 days. Even when all the "isms" are GLARINGLY apparent, there will still be those who are in denial, including, alas, some on the BB. :tear:
Not enamored with the O, just willing to give him a fair chance. That's all anyone has ever asked of any president, a fair and impartial chance to succeed or fail. And 100 days is not enough days to make that assessment.
I think this was offset by the number of voters who didn't want a black president now or anytime to come. No matter what their true colors are.
If this were the case they would have given Palin a good look. And we know that didn't happen by anyone except the faaaar right.
That goes for both parties and every elected official to date.
Now this one is true and I am glad to see you admit it. This was not as much a pro-democratic election as it was anti-republican. But it seems the republican's won't accept this with all the noise and advice they're giving. If we wanted that noise, we'd of voted them into office.
Glaringly apparent. Only if I look through right colored glasses would anything be so apparent. If you would step back and stop being so critical you will see he is doing as good a job as any president in their first 100 days. He has certainly accomplished more in 100 days than most administrations accomplish their entire presidency and he's doing it with a fraction of his staff since the right is choosing to filibuster his appointees as an attempt to derail his agenda. But don't worry, we're taking names of those who are putting party politics before country...

Only in the eyes of the GOP. 63% of the nation gives him a high approval rating and for the first time in 40 years more American's feel the country is heading in the right direction than those who believe it is not.
Since you are one of the not's, I suspect you don't want to hear facts. Just more twisting of words and dissatisfaction from the "loyal" opposition.

Look at the mess this country got in when the government didn't control the banks and major financial institutions.
If socialism is bad and Canada is good (which it is) then what is so bad about socialism? What are Americans afraid of?

I hope this is not true. If so, then those "Christians" hate me, my wife, most of her family and the many other Christian Democrats in this country. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes on the Day of the Lord.

I believe that it is broadly true. Twice I've had it said to my face that Democrats can't be Christians. Many on this board share that opinion.
