Lebuick, you said people have said Democrats cannot be Christians. So you must have the opinion that it's OK to lie if you feel someone else has ?

Glad yer not my pastor.

I haven't seen this person in a while so I will use this post...

How in the world any mature Christian can support abortion rights, gay rights, gay marriage, and the rest of the Democratic social agenda, is beyond me. I am not satisfied with the GOP, but at least I can hold my head up and bow it to pray in public without some PC police correcting me.

Like I said, show me where the Bible advocates socialism.

Ac 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

I see. So you have sold everything you own, right ?

Nope. You haven't. Because that verse refers to followers of Christ in his day, not to a form of government. The parable of the talents tells me God likes thrifty people who prepare.

And nobody called you unsaved. That is your jump. You are still being dishonest, and I think it's time I put you on my ignore list. I'm not wasting any more time here.

For you to advocate socialism as a preferred governmental approach using this passage shows a stunning lack of knowledge, or a willful distortion of the Scriptures.

There was no governmental involvement, or forced socialism involved here. If you insist on implying otherwise, then it must be assumed that you are willing to use the Word of God dishonestly to promote your political position. I find that absolutely shameful.

If you are a pastor, and you cannot see the error in your application of the above Scriptures, then I feel sorry for you and your church.

Then post some. Answer my challenge, for once. I say God advocates personal responsibility, not a welfare state, and use Israel as a biblical example.

What do you say ? Where does God promote a welfare state ? Where does he say feed, clothe, build houses, & provide medical care for those who won't work ?

I already have. Look at my past posts. You haven't. I've looked at your past posts. You just make claims without any Biblical support or any other support.

I feel a closer walk with god will lead one away from liberal beliefs. And I do know several conservative democrats. I've taken on several republicans on this board, as well, so don't get all self-pitiful on us.

Then you should report it, and show me a link where such is said.

Yup. I don't like dishonest folks, especially ones who stand behind a pulpit. Perhaps you don't have those kind of standards ?

LOL My church endured a church split because of a dishonest pastor. Don't twist what I said. I was asking if what you said was edifying to anyone (and it wasn't). I did not say I had "no standards". Again, don't twist what I said. I don't tolerate that. Want to find out?

By the way, I'm not going to bother with most of what you've said to me. You had a "I'm better than you attitude" in almost every paragraph. I will say that it's conservatives that drove businesses out of the country. Oh...and I'm glad Jesus cares about my dad. His opinion matters. Yours doesn't.

Last but not least, I'm not going to be drawn into a "what's the better government" debate. I said (and you refused to acknowledge) that God instructed Joseph to store food for the people to last through a seven year famine. How could God be such a socialist?:tonofbricks::thumbs:

Now, I have more important things to worry about than disobeying God and "arguing" with you. Let me know when you're ready for an adult discussion.

I'm not here to edify everyone. Some people don't need to be fed, they need to be wormed.

Really ? My job went to Mexico under Clinton. I don't think you know what you are talking about.

And I'm glad Jesus cares for your dad, too. But I don't care to discuss unions on his behalf. I don't know your dad, and to bring him into the conversation is ridiculous.

So you WILL discuss it. Did God command Joseph to do that all by himself ? What was the original form of government God gave to Israel ? If you don't know, just say so.

Now, I have more important things to worry about than disobeying God and "arguing" with you. Let me know when you're ready for an adult discussion.

Please. I get better debates out of my toaster oven. So far you have nothing but arguments. Bad ones at that.

P.S. Maybe you're a better debater than I but your spelling needs some work.

What do you mean when you say "some people need to be wormed"?

I don't explain myself. Jesus would want you to figure it out. I don't fellowship with liberals. I try to educate them. It's not that my debating skills are better, it's that I have been very well discipled. Praise God for good teachers, who don't spare student's emotions.

He said show him socialism in the bible. You are the who added all the preferred governmental approach jazz. Perhaps you should take a little of you own chastisement for misrepresenting my post.

It's interesting to watch people try to use the Bible to make a case for socialism .

Most of them aren't Christians in the first place, but sometimes there are Christians who join the unbelievers in their misuse, misapplication , and intentional misinterpretation of scripture.

Nowhere in the Bible does it recommend setting up an authority to decide who needs what and and also to decide what to steal from one person to give to another.

Ludicrous and dishonest.
