OFFICIAL ELECTION RESULTS THREAD

Dunno. With the absentee ballots and provisional ballots still out Kerry technically has a chance to win.
Although he'd have to win all those ballots. LOL So they're saying it won't be until November 13th until they're all counted, there's probably going to be legal action to get the provisional ballots counted at all. (there's 123,000 of them, and estimated that could be up to 250,000)
I think it's mostly for show, a lot are still saying Ohio is too close to call, but what really are the odds that everyone overseas and all those provisional votes were for Kerry? I don't think so....

As i said though - if they count the provisionals in Ohio they need to do them in PA - PA is closer than Ohio and it was called.

Its over - hopefully the Dems will respect the country enough not to put it through weeks of torture again.

Even if the final count goes for Kerry (and we should wait for the final count as long as it potentially could let him win in Ohio), the electoral college would be tied.

And then both houses of Congress would put Bush and Cheney back in.

So it's over.

But we need to make it legal. We can wait to see how it works out. It's not a banana republic we live in.

Yet.

We are about to see demonstrated just how much or how little John Kerry cares about this country. We are about to see a demonstration of his moral character. What's the right thing to do for America? What will he do to help bring this country together? He says he is a leader. We shall see.

I hope he has the character to quit the fight today. Any year before 2000 this election would be long over. In 2000 we were talking about hundreds of votes - here we are talking about 150,000.

Give us a break Mr Kerry

Same here, here now.

I know that Kerry has put in so much, and that he has to think about all of the people who gave their time, their effort, and their belief in him. But in reality, even with a count of the provisional and absentee ballots in Ohio, it just isn't going to happen.

John Kerry would do so much, and his esteem would shoot WAAAAYYY, way up, if he would graciously concede in order to not have a repeat of the 2000 circus.

Oh, and one more thing:

The best thing about a Bush win is that I won't have to see the smarmy, smirking face of Michael Moore any time soon!

You know if he were a decent guy I would say he probably would be to shamed to show his face. But since he's not a decent guy we'll probably hear more from Moore.

Plus for the first time since his daddy the US will have a majority president.
To me, this is maybe the most interesting thing of this whole election. A 3.5 million vote edge, the most votes of all time, in the midst of a high voter turnout. It looks like about 113 million votes were cast. Some said anything above 110 million would hurt Bush. And Nader proved not to be a factor.

You should read some of the libby blogs. Crying about revolution, and armed resistance. Democracy haters.

Bwahahahahahahaha.

What a great day.

To quote this fella:

"I am also very well aware that Pat Robertson has predicted President Bush will win in a landslide. The fact is, on November 9th, either Pat Robertson or Bill Keller will be wrong. I have clearly stated in the past that the penalty for a false prophet is to be stoned to death. I support that standard... One of us is a false prophet! I will make NO EXCUSES."

So, if President Bush wins, does this guy expect to be stoned to death?

That would be awful. But I still hope President Bush wins and if this man Keller ends up being stoned to death for being a false prophet because that is what he believes he deserves, then so be it.
</font>[/QUOTE]WOW! I don't believe Bill Keller should be stoned, I just felt lead to share his "Presidential Prophecy" posting.

Information we're getting, as we try to get up to date on provisional ballot situation:
1) First question in considering these things: are you registered to vote? If you're not, your ballot doesn't count.
2) Unclear on this point--would the standard for counting the ballots be that of federal or Ohio law?
3) 11 days is a ceiling. Ballots can be counted before then.
4) Not clear how many overseas ballots are still outstanding. Expectation is that they will tip to Bush (they include military ballots).
