    I did! Adoption.

    Rom. 8:23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

    Honestly, you're not familiar with this concept?

    You have yet to deal with post #22 which presents a comprehensive and tabulated view of the verses dealing with the kingdom.
    You're simply cherry-picking the verses that speak of the spiritual aspect of the kingdom.

    Hi John, hope you are fully recovered from your recent illness. I don't often post now - It seems a fruitless activity, but I think I can contribute usefully here.

    The Gospel do speak of Jesus being the Son of David, meaning that through stepfather Joseph he was born into David's family line, but born of a virgin, Mary, as the Son of God. Jesus challenged the Pharisees with your question. Mat. 22:41-46

    Dave quoted these Scriptures -
    When the Israelites demanded a king, the LORD told Samuel - "... they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them." 1 Sam. 8:7

    The human kings of Israel were in effect usurpers sitting on God's throne. Obviously we need to understand that figuratively; the LORD didn't provide David with the heavenly throne sent down to earth. David reigned over Israel as king, but we understand that a godly king was a type of Christ, as were the high priests; sacrifices & even the tabernacle & temple. They were constant reminders that God dwells with his people. Exo. 25:8. John alludes to this in John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh, and did tabernacle among us..."

    I think you are arguing that David's throne was on earth, so Jesus will come to earth to sit on it during the millennium. Peter in Acts 2 argues that Jesus' resurrection & ascension fulfilled David's prophecy. Being at God's right hand means that he is exercising the authority of the LORD the King. In Rev. 5 Jesus is in the midst of the throne.

    The remaining quotes are relevant to the discussion.

    Gosh, how sad to believe this. What an epic failure to fulfill prophecies about the messiah.

    Is. 9:6 For unto us a Child is born,
    Unto us a Son is given;
    And the government will be upon His shoulder.

    You'll only receive the blessing of Revelation if you believe what is written.

    Please see post #22 which no one has so far addressed despite aiming to be comprehensive in regards to verses,
    and please bear in mind the scriptural principle of twoedged applications. A partial/spiritual fulfillment does not negate the fuller/literal fulfillment of a prophecy. Example: John Baptist was the fulfillment of the prophecy of the coming of Elijah, and yet the Lord still told us: Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things (Mt.17:11).

    I've already affirmed this point. My post in no way negates that point.
