Romans 6
15What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!
16Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone
as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?
Here Paul points out under grace they fall slave of sin.
Matthew 5
27“You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY’;
28but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29“If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
30“If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.
Here Jesus doesn't say well just believe on me and you are saved once and for all. OSAS believer would tell Jesus no I can sin all I want don't have to cut anything off.
Matthew 13
.
40“So just as the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age.
41“The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness,
42and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Nothing here about those branded saved get a free pass, all who commit lawlessness.
Matthew 18
32“Then summoning him, his lord said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me.
33‘Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’
Most believers of OSAS would also declare that you can't possibly be forgiven unless you have been saved.
Romans 11
17If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,
18do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
19You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”
20Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble.
21For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
22Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.
You are not a natural branch. You were grafted in. And the very first thing you do is DO believe you are superior to other branches.
TELL US WHAT THIS LINE MEANS--->For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
What does this mean---> Otherwise, you also will be cut off.
John 15
1“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every
branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
3“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither
can you unless you abide in Me.
5“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
7“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
8“My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and
so prove to be My disciples.
9“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.
10“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
11“These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and
that your joy may be made full.
12“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
13“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
14“You are My friends if you do what I command you.
15“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.
16“You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and
that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
17“This I command you, that you love one another.
Jesus says he already cleaned you:
3“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Next step is to remain with him.
6“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
Hold on Jesus, you said I was already clean.
What does abide in Jesus? I don't have to abide in Jesus.
10“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
Galatians 5
4You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
5For we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.
6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.
You can't get cut off from Jesus, unless you were joined with Jesus.
You can't fall from grace, if you never had grace.
