Wow. So here we see on this thread that some professing Christians don't believe in demonic powers or spiritual warfare and don't believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and well. And then some wonder why so many churches are dead in America. OK.

There is A Spiritual Difference...

I didn't include you among those conservatives, Bro. Curtis. You have more sense than most conservatives, way more sense.
The Lord doesn't require good sense, or any kind of sense when it comes to His word and His handiwork here on earth [and that includes prophesy]. He does require FAITH, and to place "sense" above FAITH is a sin of weakness. I'd rather have "the faith of a mustard seed" than "sense of the wisest man or king on earth" because it is "faith" that brings forth His blessings, which, may I add, in this case was "Supernatural." And the supernatural works of the Father, for way too many believers, is the most difficult act for them to believe in.

Trust me Ken, God still works in mysterious ways, and this work, is one of those mysterious things that send goose bumps quacking up-and-down my spine!

Shalom,

Pastor Thomas Muthee is a bonifide kook . I am ashamed that you made this attack on me LE , I thought you were better than that.
Now since you made the assertion that I don't believe there are demonic powers out there that we Christians face every day., you are welcome to present your case.
Shame on You LE

Palin left that church very shortly after that video was taken, and despite the comparisons, I don't hear any America hatred coming from Muthee.

Again, This is Nothing More Than Sin....

Oops! I just realized the polls reflecting the VP debate come out tomorrow, hope I did not speak too soon.:BangHead:
Here's the problem with ALL of our comedians, and this includes Jay Leno, who I like. The need to make fun of our leaders is the root sin of the evil in this nation. I believe God wants us to honor our leaders, right or wrong. I don't believe God is laughing at the slime we are seeing on television. These comedians will answer for their gross misrepresentations of the people God has placed to lead us. If we believe that God is guiding our steps on this earth, than we must believe that He has placed leaders over us. We don't have to like these folks, but we have to honor them, and anything less than honor is a sin.

Oh without a doubt Muthee probably loves America and it's generosity but he is still a kook and Palin can't erase her ties with this man. It's all about character or anyway it used to be.

I'm one who believes that most, if not all, of the gifts of the spirit are still functional. Just because they don't conform to modern watered down christianity (small "c" intentional) does not negate their reality.

The reason we do not see them manifested today (IMNSHO) is simply because we are, as a society, so enamored of the world that spiritual matters are relegated to far less than top priority.

Stories from the mission fields verify the use of the gifts that the modern Christian dismisses so carelessly, because they are in more dire need (politically, materially, socially etc).

Should He delay His coming, we, in this country, will in all probability get to the point that these gifts just may become active here again due to OUR needs.

I don't think she has to erase them, I am happy she left. The video is out there. Seems like an everyday Pentecostal service.

I wasn't attacking you, just making general comments.

JWP, thanks for your articulate post concerning the point I was trying to make.

It's your opinion that he's a kook. I have found nothing on the net to tarnish his character other than your assertion here on this board, which I don't take seriously.

Le, are you turning Pentacostal on us? It really looked like that you were implying that I was a part of
some professing Christians

The church has neglected to keep their eye on the main culprit of sin and lies. Satan has convinced the church that the spiritual warfare, demons, etc., are no longer operating, which totally wipes out the teachings of Paul. We were told that we are fighting not flesh and blood, but the powers and principalities of the world. We have been given spiritual armor, and instructed to wear this armor in order to defeat these spiritual hosts of lies. To not believe in demons, and all things spiritual is the weak link in the chain of faith within many churches today.

There are demons. Peter warns us that Satan is like a hungry lion, walking around looking for someone to devour. Our present day doubt in the supernatural works of God is like the man who walks around unaware that there is a hungry lion sniffing at their footsteps, and ready to pounce and eat them....There is a spiritual war being brought against the flesh of this world, and once a man or woman comes to believing in Jesus, the spiritual battle is amped up to high.

There are also prophets, priests, teachers, pastors, and others that God has anointed and appointed to lead His church. To doubt any of His appointed leaders is a sin of monumental loss. All of the gifts given to the NT church are alive and well today, and to denounce gifts [selective doctrine] that we "just" don't believe in is the kind of error that gets His children into trouble when they are face-to-face with evil and being attacked. We must be ready, both in season and out of season. The battle never lets up, because Satan never lets up in his attempts to trip up the child of God. This is why we need strong teaching from the pulpit; a love and desire for prayer and intercession; and a strong fellowship that is supportive of each other. A fellowship that is willing to hurt when another hurts, and rejoice when another has a victory to rejoice in, is what God has called the church to practice. This is what love is all about.

This post is not "Creepy", it is the plain truth. This pastor was led on his mission as much as Peter was led from the jail to the Bible study where everyone was praying for his release. The funny thing about that story was that those at the Bible study praying for Peter, were taken by great surprise when Peter showed up on their doorstep. Could there be a similar spirit today? I think so. We pray for God to do miracles, and when they happen, some times the church is startled, bewildered, and sent into a world of spiritual doubt.

My friends, God is still alive, and if He could dispatch Angels to do His bidding thousands of years ago,, than why do we doubt His ability to do the miraculous today?

Today's church is no better off than what God found in Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot thought for sure that there were more believers than what was actually there. He was surprised, and God was saddened to find that there were not even ten.

The road to heaven is not as wide as the road to hell.

I do not find this story to be anything less than a miracle; a direct Word from God for a world and a country in need of a word that God is still involved in our national  welfare....and to answer those who may doubt me, NO I am NOT pentecostal. However, I believe in what the Bible teaches, and that means I don't go around selecting what I want to believe, and removing or discarding what I don't want to believe.

Shalom,

Pastor Paul

Preach it, Brother. Great post!

And, no, I'm not Pentecostal, but even if I was, would that be a bad thing? Nope. I'm a Christian first, Southern Baptist by choice, but believe ALL of the gifts of the NT church are alive and well and functioning in the world today, more so in other countries than in America because of our apathy, disbelief, and hardness of hearts.
