Just watched a video from Wretched TV where Todd is interviewing Paul Washer and Paul says its not murders that will have to fear God, or atheists, or thieves, but pastors. Paul also says that the majority of churches in America are corrupt and are into the entertainment business, rather than the Biblical business. Paul is right on! Take a walk around this board and see for yourself! There are pastors and other christians leaders on this board that are into entertaining people in their churches. They do not like to preach the law in their evangelism and have rejected biblical evangelism. They do not like to open air preach, for they claim it is "yelling at people" and on and on it goes. These pastors will have God to face one day for their rejection of scripture, and embracement of another gospel.

I have written over a hundred letters to so called pastors in my area and have had many conversations. I have tried to preach the gospel to these corrupt pastors but to no avail as they want to continue in their sin, continue to reject the essentials of the faith, continue to preach homosexuality is okay, and continue to not take the bible literally, but only to accept what they want to accept. And on and on it goes.

Were you drinking or sober when you wrote the letters? You lectured a pastor on homosexuality, I commend you for that. Did you lecture any of them on keeping marriage vows?

I guess Paul Washer's Bible is that new translation that omits Revelation 21:8, Revelation 22:15, 1 Timothy 1:9, etc.

I would ask to see the data. Just how many churches in America are corrupt and into the entertainment business? How did we come about the data and how can we know the numbers are valid?

I have nothing against Paul Washer (I actually like the guy, even though he kinda reminds me of Eeyore), but sometimes I think that he makes assumptions in order to make a point.

The sooner the board realizes that Evan6589 is a troll and ignores his posts, the better off we all will be.

I've noticed he does not participate in any thread he has not created. The thing is, he is not wrong about a lot of stuff. He just lacks the grace to say it, and it comes out very legalistic, possibly because he clings to the authority of men, and God has not yet brought him low.

I haven't watched this particular interview with Paul Washer, since Evan did not link to it.
However, I assume that he was referencing James 3:1 and maybe Ezekiel 34:1-10, in which case Washer is quite correct.

He may have been referencing those passages I do not know. But the man is full of wisdom and discernment. I love reading his books and hearing his messages.

While discussing how and why people go wrong, tempered with a healthy dose of introspection, is a good thing, I sense a little:

The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other people--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector.'

Paul Washer preaches more biblically correct sermons than the vast majority of preachers in America today.
I have heard things like this before (it's very similar to what is stated in the OP). What is our data for making these claims?

(I'm not disagreeing, but I am asking how this is determined).

My concern with washer is that he spends more time worrying about how others are doing it wrong than he does preaching the gospel. He is very sensationalistic and to listen to him he is about the only person out there who knows how to do church, worship God, or anything else related to the things of God. To listen to him everyone in America should just stop what they are doing and let washer set them straight. He is high on himself, he is caustic, legalistic, and just plain wrong.

Churches are made up of people. People are imperfect. There is no doubt that our churches are imperfect but to run around speaking of our churches as if they are the whore of babylon is just wrongheaded. He needs to get over himself.

he does at times though seem to make it that only those who see things exactly as he does will enter into Heaven!

It seems that one must always agree with him in order to be considered teaching correct/right doctrine!

I have listened to many of his sermons. He, in my opinion, is very biblically sound.

He seems to be spot on in his sermons.

But ppl can say that about Hinn, Osteen, Hutch, Jakes, et al.

We all flock to preaches who preach to our beliefs, I suppose.
