That's what the Rabbi's claim about the Mishnah and other rabbinical commentaries. Yet, Jesus condemned them and their traditions that added more weight to the law.
You show yourself as a legalistic Pharisee who places faith in the commentaries of men while ignoring the word of God.

So you do not know one single thing from the scriptures as true? And refuse to learn anything from them?

Let's talk about God's word. What does it say?

Galatians 3:3-14 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”? Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

Matthew 15:2-9 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the wordof God. You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

So you are producing a creed but condemn those who really know what scripture says from doing the same.

I would like to see Amillennialism presented in a Creed and then PROVEN in Scripture.
That seems like a pretty tall order.

Webster defines Creed as, "a brief authoritative formula of religious belief ." In which my Creed would be from the devotionals of William Seymour...

    1. The Outer Court - Justification - Faith to enter in.
    2. The Altar - Salvation- if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. - Roman's 10:9
    3. The Laver - The clean effects of sanctification.
    4. Table of Showbread – Daily into the word of God
    5. Light at the Lightstand - Faith, hope, charity, joy, grace, love, warmth, etc. With sanctification came a sweet spirit!
    6. The Golden Incense Alter - Prayer and Praise meetings.
    7. The Holy of Holies - The Shekinah Glory and Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

I tend to look into the heart. If the heart is pure and full of good things I will take a liking to what has been taught. When we had a plating department in our facility I worked under a chemist. This chemist was very smart and very good at math. When he laid out equations he did so in very neat handwriting and there would be much activity as he turned the results of an analysis into an addition. I would take his calculations and put them in the form of visual basic functions and sub procedures.

Of all the years I worked with this man I had one opportunity to witness to him. I made my presentation while he was analyzing adhesion under a microscope in which you could hear the sounds... Scratch, scratch, scratch! Scratch scratch, scratch! After my presentation he just continued to look under the microscope as if ignored everything I said so I just continued in my work. Then... The scratch scratch, scratching stopped! And he speaks!

"You know what I think it is?" He says while continuing to look under the microscope... "I think it is arrogance!"

And then, without taking his eyes off the microscope, he continues his work... Scratch, scratch, scratch! Scratch scratch, scratch! I did not reply but went about my work. Inside I feared he was right. In many cases religion can inhabit too much personal ego. And the father of such ego is the devil himself. Which is why I have no use for the teachings of John Calvin, who could put a man to death and then utter....

"Whoever shall maintain that wrong is done to heretics and blasphemers in punishing them makes himself an accomplice in their crime and guilty as they are. There is no question here of man's authority; it is God who speaks, and clear it is what law he will have kept in the church, even to the end of the world. Wherefore does he demand of us a so extreme severity, if not to show us that due honor is not paid him, so long as we set not his service above every human consideration, so that we spare not kin, nor blood of any, and forget all humanity when the matter is to combat for His glory." - John Calvin, after the death of Michael Servetus

The salvation of the old Saint of the Wilderness Robert Sheffey came at a revival meeting at an old store building. There were drunks there who would pelt the preacher with corn cobs, but Robert and a few others went up front to make their profession of faith in Christ. Robert wanted to defend the meeting, but the preacher would not hear to it, and maintained the furtherance of the gospel must be non-violent. Which was the correct thing to do!

"I will certainly do my best to see that no rowdy crowd comes up here again and bothers you even if I have to knock them down the stairs with this poker." - Robert Sheffey

"That is not the way of the Savior, my young brother. You do want to be more like Him?" -asked the preacher

    "Yes." - Replied Robert

"Then he who would be more like the Christ must study the Bible and learn of His life and works. Imitate Him in all your thoughts and deeds. You are not so foolish as to think that that will come easy?"- The preacher from the readings of "The Saint of the Wilderness" by Jess Carr

And Robert Sheffey would keep a good spirit of Christ with him all his days...

To those so vehemently opposed to Creeds, let's look at one of the earliest and simplest Creeds: the "Apostles Creed" (which is reported to summarize the teachings of the Apostles).

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
    creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
    He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
    was crucified, died, and was buried;
    he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
    He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
    the holy catholic* church,
    the communion of saints,
    the forgiveness of sins,
    the resurrection of the body,
    and the life everlasting. Amen.

*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places

So I will start at the beginning:
"I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth."
    • I do believe in God. As stated in Romans 1:20, the existence of God and His invisible attributes are self evident.
      • [Rom 1:20 NASB] "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse."
    • God is "the Father almighty" and God did create "Heaven and Earth"
      • [2Co 6:18 NASB] "And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.
      • [Gen 14:19 NASB] He blessed him and said, "Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;
      • [Exo 31:17 NASB] "It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased [from labor,] and was refreshed."
      • [2Ki 19:15 NASB] Hezekiah prayed before the LORD and said, "O LORD, the God of Israel, who are enthroned [above] the cherubim, You are the God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
      • [2Ch 2:12 NASB] Then Huram continued, "Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who has made heaven and earth, who has given King David a wise son, endowed with discretion and understanding, who will build a house for the LORD and a royal palace for himself.
      • [Psa 115:15 NASB] May you be blessed of the LORD, Maker of heaven and earth.
      • [Psa 121:2 NASB] My help [comes] from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
      • [Psa 124:8 NASB] Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
      • [Psa 134:3 NASB] May the LORD bless you from Zion, He who made heaven and earth.
      • [Mat 11:25 NASB] At that time Jesus said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from [the] wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants.
      • [Luk 10:21 NASB] At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from [the] wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.
      • [Act 17:24 NASB] "The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;
So far, I can see no conflict between the Apostles creed and the teaching of Scripture.
Any corrections needed for the first part?

More with some and less with others.
    Those that I really like:
    • Nicene Creed
    • Heidelberg Catechism (technically a Catechism rather than a Creed)

    Those that I have read:
    • Apostles Creed
    • Athanasian Creed
    • Westminster Confession of Faith (1647)
    • Baptist Confession of Faith (1689)
    • Baptist Faith and Message (2000)

That is a more difficult question. I believe that they accurately reflect the beliefs of the groups that wrote them and the time that they were written. I think some of the language was carefully chosen for political reasons among the committee. Where I have verified the statements of Creeds and Catechisms against actual scripture and affirmed the teaching for myself, I trust the creed to accurately summarize Biblical Truth. Where I have read a creed or catechism and not personally verified the statement with scripture, I accept it as a learned opinion worth consideration, but not as completely trustworthy.

Obviously, in all cases, Sola Scriptura prevails and Creeds are aids but not scripture.

Creeds or doctrines of men... The Apostle Paul once said....

But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. - Galatians 1:11-12

And Paul goes on to say...

17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.
20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
    21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;
22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:
23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. - Galatians 1

The Apostle Paul... Highlighting how little time he spent with the apostles, and even that was after three years.

Are you demoting God's word to a creed of men and lifting up the creeds of men to equality with God?
It sure seems like you are.
Tell me how I create a creed by sharing God's word with you?

I'm beginning to think you are clueless about creeds.

Rocky, how can you, a sinner by birth, still fighting daily with your sinful flesh, consider yourself to be a judge of light and darkness?

Bravo, atpollard, you are checking God's word against the creed. No one has said that all creeds or statements within a creed are wrong. I simply state that a creed must be tested by God's word and rejected if there is conflict with God's word. I state that the creeds are creations of sinful men who are prone to bias and corrupt thinking, but God's word is holy and the authority over and above the creeds.

Because it entered into my heart! I have a wood stove in the garage that is attached to my house. Keeping the wood stove stoked keeps the whole house warm and in the seventies. My heat pump is set to turn on at 65 so I can feel the effects of the fire if it goes out. Especially as there is a chill in the house. There is also a fire that God has lit in my heart that must be tended to daily or it also will go out!

If E = mc2 then we can divide and conclude that...

    Mass (m) = Energy (E/c2)

    And there are three varieties...

Natural E/c2 - All mass is basically cooled plasma
Mental E/c2 - Mentally, A mathematical formula, but this has chemical and spiritual properties as well.
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. - 1 John 1:5

Unfortunately, though, the light and the darkness interact here on planet Earth. The opposite of E/c2 would be z (absolute zero)/ c (darkness)...

Natural z/d - Nothing, empty space.
Mental z/d - No reasoning or memory
Spiritual z/d - z (laziness, coldness, hatred) / d (fear, despair, greed, sorrow)

A correct spiritual E/c2 is an important ally to the Christian faith. Robert Sheffey is my favorite saint and lived in the 1800s during the great Methodist revival here in Giles County, Virginia. As we approached 1900 the Methodist revival seems to have grown cold. Robert once was at a conference and was annoyed by the the lack of revival spirit in the air. Asked to lead the closing prayer he prayed...

"Dear Lord, a chill wind seems to imprison our hearts; and the brothers and sisters sit about as rotting tree stumps; and even the mouths of Thy servants who have spoken seem cold with formality and aloofness. These brethren who call themselves preachers and who by divine calling should let Thy lovingkindness shine from them like the light of the sun do not know what the trouble is. I think I know what the trouble is. Thou are not with us. We have not invited Thee. They will not like Thy servant Robert Sheffey for asking you this at so late an hour, but, Lord, come quickly, like a descending dove. Forgive them, Lord, for their stiff shirt collars and brand-new suits make it hard for them to look down from the pulpit to see if anyone stands at the altar. Forgive them, Lord, they are small potatoes, and very few in the hill …"

That didn't answer the question, but it did tell me how you heat your house.
Now, how do you, a sinner through and through, declare that you are the judge of light and darkness?

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: - Acts 17

I felt the effects of darkness and the flesh from dwelling on planet earth. I felt the effects of light from dwelling in Christian conference GARBC Baptist, Freewill Baptist and Pentecostal Holiness via the following methods....

    1. Christian conference organized
    2. Time in worship
    3. Time in the word
    4. Time around the altar in prayer

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 8:9

When the Word was spoken in power and in anointing (like the message spoken below) I would feel the effects of spiritual light enter the spiritual man in prayer around the altar. Regarding sinfullness, the sin was forgiven as I would confess them and ask for forgiveness.

Act 17 is Paul's message in Athens, to pagans. How does it answer my question?
I take it, you cannot answer my question so you're just tossing out random statements. That is what happens when God's word takes second place to feelings.

I know of light because it was something experienced through Christ....

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. - Ephesians 5:14
