The problem with those definitions is that they focus on who is cooperating or not. That has nothing to do with who and why one gets the credit for salvation.
From dictionary.com:
Synergism:
the doctrine that the human will cooperates with the Holy Ghost in the work of regeneration.
No other definition available that does not focus on "cooperation".
And if you mean God alone gets credit even if man is active in his salvation then you'll have to revise Romans 8:29-30 that clearly shows God alone did all " these" things for His people.

Cooperation is not a necessary consideration.
Cooperation is not a necessary consideration.
Cooperation is not a necessary consideration.
There's synergism and monergism. What other 'gism out there...if there are any others....is up for consideration??
There is no other gism. It is not needed. It matters not how man responds to the call of God with regards to salvation. How man responds is irrelevant with regards to giving credit for salvation. No matter how mn responds man cannot get the credit any more than a shovel gets the credit for digging the whole.
He who has the power and authority to give it gets all the credit.
IMO, you showed a monergistic position....
What I believe is that God opens the heart and man can make a choice because of that. What I also believe is that man's choice is irrelevant to who gets the credit. Even though man is free to make s choice to choose Him or not to choose Him it is still all of God because 1.) God enables us to make that choice, and 2.) He who has the power and authority to give it gets the credit.
