'Prison-like' migrant youth shelter is understaffed, unequipped for Trump's 'zero tolerance' policy

We are discussing a misdemeanor, not a violent crime. If someone fails to turn on their blinker when turning, do you want them separated from their children?
It’s a misdemeanor the FIRST time they are apprehended, it’s a felony after that. That is the law.

Well, they tried to make it a felony for first time offenders, but the Democrats want the votes and the RINOs want the cheap labor.

This is really a black eye issue for the left, wringing their hands over these "children" is going to backfire on them, since it proves yet again what their true priorities are. As for the libertarians, they ought to remember that you can either have a welfare state OR open borders, not both. I don't care what Sweden does, they don't have to pay for the world's defense.

I seriously doubt that, unless only Republicans are allowed to vote this November.

"By an overwhelming 66-27 percent margin, Americans oppose the Trump Administration policy that takes children from their immigrant parents, according to a national Quinnipiac University poll released Monday.

But Republican voters support Trump's "Zero Tolerance" immigration policy by 55 percent to 35 percent, "the only listed party, gender, education, age or racial group to support it," Quinnipiac reported."

Many families are permanently separated from their children by death due to illegals. A fourteen yo was just run over on his bike & killed by an illegal in Michigan. Something like this, or something more nefarious happens everyday to citizens & their children. Where’s the outrage for their loss?

Most illegals in the country since 2007 have been from visa overstays, not border crossings. The zero tolerance policy at the border won’t stop visa overstays. All that will be seen is that the majority of Republicans support, in practical terms, incarcerating innocent children.

This means nothing without actual numbers even if it were true.

Still no real numbers just percentages. I wonder why? Means nothing as far as whether or not we should build a wall.

from the NorhingButCommunism news link above:

The 2016 report also found that a growing percentage of people crossing the border into the U.S. are migrants from Central America who are presenting themselves to U.S. authorities and seeking political asylum.

they seem to think Mexico in in central America.

Quinnipiac? LOL, not only far left, but one of the worst polling outfits around.

Dual frame landline and cell phone samples are generated using Random Digit Dialing procedures by Survey Sampling International (SSI). Both the landline and cellular phone samples are stratified by Census division according to area code.

https://poll.qu.edu/images/polling/us/us06182018_demos_uwsf18.pdf/

do that, and you're going to skew the entire poll to urban areas, they did this in 2016 and learned nothing.

“More Mexican immigrants have returned to Mexico from the U.S. than have migrated here since the end of the Great Recession, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of newly available government data from both countries. The same data sources also show the overall flow of Mexican immigrants between the two countries is at its smallest since the 1990s, mostly due to a drop in the number of Mexican immigrants coming to the U.S.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said on Monday that some "well-coached" people illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border are using children to pose as families to gain entry.

"From October 2017 to this February, we have seen a staggering 315 per cent increase in illegal aliens fraudulently using children to pose as family units to gain entry into the country," she told the annual National Association of Sheriffs meeting in New Orleans, the Daily Mail reports. "This must stop. All this does is put the children at risk."

We should also go after to visa overstays. As for the children, they might be innocent but their parents know full well what they are doing. They are scamming the system to gain entry into the country on bogus "refugee from violence" claims. So tell me, how many should we take in? If we do not deter them now they will be coming here for the next 20 years. These poor and uneducated people become wards of society, starting with education, then healthcare, food stamps and more. We are 20 trillion in debt and we cannot afford to keep taking these foreigners in.

If true, I say good. But now they are being rapidly replaced with Central Americans.

Perhaps that's what they want - to let CPS take their children and put then into American foster homes.
The children start their life in America with some kind of child amnesty program which will include food stamps, Medicaid, Bernie scholarship "Free College", etc, etc... while many of our veterans waste away on the streets.

The Statue of Liberty should covered up and the United States should not be called “a shining city on a hill” for as long as the current president remains in office. This country is currently shrouded in moral darkness. The soul of this country is dead.

Moral darkness was Obama. Moral darkness is having a main plank in your party platform vowing to guarantee the right to butcher the innocent. Which is worse, separating children from patents for a couple of weeks or shoving a huge hemostat into the base of the neck of a partially born baby and severing its spinal cord?

The soul of this government died and was covered in blood in 1973 when baby murder was legalized.

We the people were not asked, somehow the SCOTUS now makes rather than interprets the law of the land.
