You are confusing the great tribulation of 70 AD with great tribulation that dominates the world up til the end.
Not at all, as THE GT will invove the near destruction of all living upon the earth, will involve nations against nations...

Now where does He say that?
“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.” (Luke 21:20–22)

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Matthew 24:15–21)

That happened to Jerusalem. When Jesus returns they will be marrying and giving in marriage. Saying peace and safety.

Those holding to pre trib see that as being whewn Rapture hits though!
Those holding the pre-trib rapture turn Jesus into Antichrist and remove Christ's redemptive work on the cross from Daniel 9. Serious problem on judgement day.

Are the elect from among the nations deceived?

Seems like it from these threads - they see the physical, carnal nation of Israel as the focus of prophecy, rather than the LORD Jesus Christ, & see the whole Gospel age as a gap in God's purposes for Israel.

No, its rather that I see Spiritual israel as today including both saved jews and Gentiles, but also that Goid is not finished dealing with getting national israel back unto Himself in end times!

But you said that the Roman conquest of Jerusalem and Israel was the greatest catastrophe in history and Luke does not prove that. And clearly Matthew is talking is talking about the abomination of desolation, which did not occur under the Roman operation, which was just a military event and involved the simple razing of the Temple.

Luke interprets "abomination of desolation" for us in his parallel passage.

Luke 21:20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. (See also Luke 19:41-44)

(Mat 24:15 “Therefore when you see the ‘ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),

They also turn Jesus into Antichrist in Daniel 9:27. And since Antichrist did not fulfill the time slot Jesus did according to 9:27, they insert a huge gap of thousands of years. Totally obliterating Christ's atonement and the 70th week it found fulfillment in.

The Romans did not stand on the holy place and declare anything. They just tore it down. The abomination of desolation will be when someone stands in the third temple and declares himself to be god.

Luke says differently. The Holy Place is the Holy City = Jerusalem. You are confusing this with Paul's man of sin which found fulfillment in the Papacy.

No, I am not confusing it with anything, but this thread has reached its limit of posts. There was no abomination of desolation by the Romans and the Pope never had a temple to go to because it was destroyed in 70 AD.
