Republicans criticize Confederate flags at Obama visit

wo Oklahoma Republican congressmen ripped protesters in their state who greeted President Obama in Oklahoma City by waving Confederate flags, calling their actions “disrespectful,” “embarrassing” and “inappropriate.”

“I was shocked and disappointed by those who showed up to wave Confederate flags soon after President Obama arrived in Oklahoma,” Rep. Tom Cole, a senior House Republican, said in a statement to The Hill. “Their actions were not only disappointing but incredibly disrespectful, insensitive and embarrassing to the entire state.

“The unacceptable behavior displayed by these individuals certainly does not reflect the values and views of the vast majority of Oklahomans,” Cole added. “No president should ever be confronted by such behavior, especially when the purpose of the visit was meant to celebrate and recognize some of our state’s greatest achievements.”

No. They were making fun of the racially insecure jerk.

He most likely stomped his wittle feet an threw a tantrum as soon as he was out of sight.

He needs to be greeted by thousands of them everywhere he goes.

And then there's this:

Priceless!!

The mainstream media has long attempted to paint supporters of the Confederate flag as white Southern racists who have a chip on their shoulder about losing the Civil War and miss the good ol’ days of owning slaves.

That was proven not to be the case when President Barack Obama’s motorcade rolled into Oklahoma City on Wednesday and was met with a large crowd of Confederate flag-waving supporters — many of whom were black.

But the media people were especially stunned when they learned that Andrew Duncomb, a black man who calls himself “the Black Rebel,” organized the rally himself in an attempt to celebrate his proud Southern heritage.

“We don’t believe it’s a symbol of racism,” Duncomb explained to a local reporter. “

What's priceless is there are no black people seen flying that flag in the crowd.

What's priceless is that Duncomb is a nutt. But he's right about it being about heritage: A heritage of hate.

Wonder why his lil group has no other black folks in it?

I must admit that the FOX News parrots are funny. Y'all think that if you show one black person going against all the other black people that your one guy's foolishness trumps the good sense of the rest of the black people who have spoken against something.

Try another approach. This one looks stupid. I might make some of you feel as though your racism isn't racism if a black guy says so. But anybody( and it has become a right wing strategy) can always find one black person to speak against the majority of black people.

Guess it makes some on the right feel justified in their racism.

Just dumb too because Oklahoma doesn't really have much of a "Confederate" heritage other than some Indian tribes and they aren't flying the stupid flag.

I don't think anybody thinks that. I think most people understand they were flying them in protest of that piece of skubulon, Obama.

Nobody here can help it if you're blind, in more ways than one.

He, and the other blacks with him, are at least in a position to make that claim. A white boy like you who learned about "white privilege" out of a book doesn't really have a clue.

Right . Because he spearheaded all the flag talk.

You sound as crazy as ever.

Unless you can produce proof that you hold a degree in doctorate in psychology, you need to cease and desist calling people "crazy!"

Just that the KKK has and continues to wave that flag is more than enough to finally relegate it to the same category as the swastika symbol.
To wave it around at our Black president was as ignorant, mean and crude as it would be to wave swastikas when the Israeli president visits.
Both symbols may have started with different connotations, but both have since become powerful symbols of hatred and prejudice.
And if you happened to have been there, you'd have noticed the "White Power" tattoos on some who were waving that flag. do not call ignorance good, or equate their actions with anything our Father would call love.
