It's the nature of our society. An apology is rarely accepted, and most often looked at as an admission of guilt.
I get the offense of the tweet, but it really bugs me that apologies are completely meaningless in this day and age. The muslim brotherhood is neither a religion of race, but a political movement. They should be fair game. But anything ape related when addressing a black American is considered racists, hence the apology.
But wouldn't we be a better society if we could stick our foot in our mouth, apologize and move on? Is it necessary we're this sensitive?
