And these would never consider uttering an apology. Joy Bahar did, to her credit.
Yes, but ONLY after ABC got thousands of tweets and facebook entries from really upset Christians! If they were really being for not standing for rude remarks, she would have got terminated also!

Roseanne losing her show has nothing to do with forgiveness. What a ridiculous platform. A capitalist made a decision to terminate a product. Beginning and end.

the big complaint though is if ABC was this great paragon of Virtue, Joy Baher would have got the ax also!

Joy Behar and Roseanne can BOTH go make me a sammich. I don’t want to hear anything from either of those two shrieking harpies. Just because they open their mouths don’t mean I gotta listen.

Thats fine - but the point is that ABC is not being consistent.

Yeah, while Rosanne saw the offense and apologized almost immediately.

I don’t expect Hollywood to be fair arbiters on matters of civility and discourse. The place is full of perverts, child molesters, drugs, parties, and self-serving millionaires and billionaires.

Oh a rapist can’t be sorry ?

Spare me.

Sure they can be sorry. Many offenders like this repent, even, and find the Lord in prison. The thief on the cross repented and found forgiveness up on a cross. But his sentence was not commuted, and that is what you're talking about here.

To my knowledge Cosby has not apologized, and he's not guilty of mere insults. His crimes are much more serious, and he should serve his sentence. Insults are not illegal (at least not yet).

Scripture, interestingly, makes a big distinction here, that every Christian should note. Forgiving insults is a major theme in the Bible. Turning the other cheek is about overlooking insults (a slap on the cheek was a grievous insult in ANE times). We have the right to defend ourselves in the case of a violent attack, but insults are different. Overlooking insults are a key to righteousness, healthy relationships and cultures.

Prov. 12:16 Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult.

What a wonderful world it would be if this concepts was embraced.

Sigh. Ok I’ll repeat. Try to read comprehensively so I don’t have to keep saying this.

First. She hasn’t apologized for many of her disgusting stunts. Stunts so vile I will not link them.

Second. I don’t accept this apology as genuine due to her bringing up Ambien.

I hope this clears my stance for you.

Insult noted, which is kind of ironic, considering the subject matter. :)

Are you sure? I have no idea of this is true. You're offering no proof whatsoever. You say she did some wicked things and never apologized. Might be true, might not. Totally irrelevant as we're talking about this specific instance.

Second. I don’t accept this apology as genuine due to her bringing up Ambien.

I hope this clears my stance for you.

I dealt with this objection earlier. You never responded. I listened, and responded to you. I'll repost for your convenience.

I read her apology and didn't see one word about Ambien. I saw it in other headlines. But it appears she left it out of the apology.

But I don't think mentioning drinking or another drug in association with your actions is a problem. I've never been offended by someone apologizing and then adding they were on something or influenced by something or even going through something emotionally. I would never take that as a copout and then refuse their apology.

I was on a Cruise recently with my family, and a young man verbally abused my kids and a bunch of other kids. He called my youngest daughter the B word. Really foul mouth, really shocking. We later found out, his mom had just died and he and his father were on this Cruise to just get away and try to heal. The kid later apologized to my daughter. By your logic, she should have refused his apology and considered his emotional excuse that he shared a copout. Sorry, that's not what we're about. That's not the biblical model.

And I posted where she did blame Ambien. You chose to ignore it.

If you don’t want to research her other garbage that’s on you. I’m simply not going to link to it. I don’t care if you keep yourself ignorant.

I’m done here

You are definitely done. Making accusations of someone not apologizing for something and then asking others to prove it true is not a winning strategy.

And I didn't ignore you, I dealt with your argument here. You, to this point, have ignored my response. Now you're running.

Weird, I had no idea that Valerie Jarrett was Black.

Hmmmmm. This is getting really interesting. Rosanne actually claims she also didn't know VJ was black. And frankly, she does't look black to me, so it's very believable.

And she did apologize once she learned she was black and the joke was racially insensitive.

Sooooooooo, now what should think about this? Does she deserve to be fired just for the insult alone?

Roseanne Leaving Twitter.JPG

Good thing Roseanne left Twitter like she said she was going to do the day she "apologized".

Oh...

I think this is a pretty common thing.

What's a common thing? Say one thing, do another?

Roseanne's tweet was simple:
1. I apologize.
2. I am now leaving Twitter

Well, she didn't leave Twitter. So why should we believe her apology?

Yeah, I was listening to some local radio folks and they started naming off all the celebs who made similar statements. I had a feeling she'd go back on this one.

I don't get the argument though. Someone changes their mind about leaving twitter and so you never believe their apology? That's a tough sell.
