Russia Declares War And Invades Ukraine

The abortion rate in Russia appears to be higher that that in the USA, though both rates have declined recently.
Scroll down to Figure 3 in this rather tortuous article.
Abortion in Russia: How Has the Situation Changed Since the Soviet Era? - PONARS Eurasia
The article seems to make my point. In Figure 3 the total number of abortions per women is Russia is higher than the U.S, but look at the reduction YOY. The trajectory is the abortion rate will soon bottom out, much faster than the U.S. The article is from 2019 so it's likely the rate is now lower.

From the article under Fig 3:
"The Russian abortion rate is still higher than that of the US, but the difference is rapidly shrinking. Back in 2008, the Russian rate of total induced abortions was 1.9 times higher than that of the US (1.09 compared to 0.59), but in 2014-15 the Russian rate was only 1.3 times that of the US (0.57 compared to 0.43). The number of abortions is declining in the US, but in Russia, it is declining faster."

Additional info from that same article. Imagine if the U.S did these things nationwide as Russia is doing.

"Since 2012, Russian doctors have had the right to refuse an abortion. Since 2014, it has been forbidden to advertise induced abortion as a medical service. In 2016, the Ministry of Health recommended that a woman seeking an abortion be encouraged to view an ultrasound image of the embryo and listen to its heartbeat. That same year, a new voluntary and informed consent form for induced abortion was introduced. A woman seeking a voluntary termination of pregnancy must sign this form, which now includes frightening information about the possible negative consequences of abortion, up to and including infertility. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization cites abortion as a safe medical intervention—if it is performed by a medical professional in appropriate conditions and by gentle techniques.

Exclusion of abortion from the basic plan of compulsory medical insurance has been also discussed. [The Russian Orthodox Church has repeatedly called for such an exclusion; most recently, this opinion was voiced by the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church ML.]"

I've also mentioned in other posts about the Russian restrictions on inappropriate images and Left gender propaganda to children, which have no protection in the U.S.

I thought that reformed theology teaches that God ordains everything that comes to pass
Yes it does. Think about the attributes of God. Can an all knowing God, not know?
Nothing can happen or move randomly outside of God decreeing it to do so.
God does not make Putin do evil.
Putin's self will acts according to his own fallen, unregenerate, nature.
SBG....we believe God is Holy, just, and good.
His perfect means He cannot increase or diminish...or He would not be Perfect.
Does that help.
God restrained Abimelech, by way of a dream...but let Hitler bring horrendous violence...like the Assaryians in Isa.10

Sad day indeed when Christians praise Russia for persecuting, even killing, specific groups of people and then claim Russia has a higher moral standing than the US.

peace to you
It is indeed a sad day. Imagine how far the U.S has had to sink in order for Russia to be a country to be looked up to morally.

We've gone from shining city on the hill to a sprinkle covered hog turd.

Heck, over half of the U.S population cannot tell the difference between God created Man and Woman. They don't have that problem in Russia because they are unfortunately morally closer to God. Putin, authoritarian as he is, doesn't support the illusion of men pretending to be women or vice versa. Nor does he tolerate children being indoctrinated in that same filth.

The U.S has fallen quite a long way.

Putin has murdered thousands. The U.S has murdered millions of unborn children.
So you compare Putin's cold blooded murdering to US parents wrongly believing in fake science of when life begins making bad choices. Upon this conclusion is how you justify Russia as being on "higher moral ground and embracing God" and then conclude that we are hypocrites if we call Putin evil.

...What a stupid argument. :Rolleyes:Roflmao:Roflmao

That Christians praise the persecution and death of certain groups of people and truly believe the National morality of a brutal dictatorship is superior to the US demonstrates how little these people understand scripture.

peace to you

No Sasse does NOT need to be our next POTUS.
His response to the Russian invasion is spot on. His understanding of the moral crisis in the US is spot on. His faith in our King is spot on.
What is sad is watching so many Christians desire to see Putins lap dog, (Trump), be reinstated while they ignore the evil nature of the man.
Also, reading people here who lift up Putin as a messiah figure over the United States is incredibly disturbing. How is it that self-declared Christians can applaud a tyrant and despise a man of God?

It is ridiculous to say Trump is Putin's lap dog. That is insanely ignorant of a statement. We had peace under Trump. He kept Putin at bay. Hardly a lap dog. Sasse is ridiculous. He blames Trump for Jan 6th riot which is ignorant as well. I liked him before he started that nonsense with the Democrats.

Even your post here shows Trump as Putins lap dog. Lap dogs keep their masters occupied...

Ridiculous. The theories have been disproven TIME AND TIME AGAIN. Stop listening to Adam Schiff.
Who is Adam Schiff?
I simply observe Donald Trump and his lap dog actions.
Ben Sasse is a true blue American who actually cares about this country and is a very Godward believer in Christ Jesus.
Why would any Christian cast Ben Sasse aside for a godless narcissist like Donald Trump? Desiring Donald Trump is like wanting King Ahab instead of King David.

So how exactly is Donald Trump a lap dog for Putin, this should be entertaining... And Adam Schiff was one of the clowns leading the whole Russian Collusion circus hoax.

Trump refused to oppose Putin in every issue. It is very factually obvious that Russia was involved in manipulating the 2016 election, yet Trump went out of his way to deny it.

Mainly, however, no Christian can justify supporting a full blown, godless narcissist over a Godward Christian. You cannot justify supporting Trump over Sasse.
