(Incidentally, when you see Robbie Robertson singing, according to Levon's autobiography, his mic is never plugged in because he couldn't sing)

Mat. 22:8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

This is a powerful Gospel invitation song based on those words of Jesus -

Come all you vagabonds; come all you 'don't belongs' ....

This is a better link

2 Samuel 6: 14
14And David, wearing a linen ephod, danced with all his might before the LORD, 15while he and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouts and the sound of the trumpets.…
Psalm 150:3-5
Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the LORD
…3Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with the harp and lyre. 4Praise Him with tambourine and dancing; praise Him with the strings and flute. 5Praise Him with clashing cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals.…

A song my mother use to listen to that would remind me of Christ when I was a small child- "I never knew love like this before". For some reason my mind would perceive certain songs as the soul praising God. Even at a very young age. Go figure.

This one would remind me of Jesus and Mary. Maybe I was an unusual child? I know no one in my house was thinking this way. C'est la vie. Maybe you will hear these songs the way I did as child . May not be your genre but all have a flavor of music they like , I personally ,if you haven't notice like a variety of flavors.

Exodus 19:3-5 Israel at Mount Sinai
…3Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, “This is what you are to tell the house of Jacob and explain to the sons of Israel: 4‘You have seen for yourselves what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. 5Now if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, you will be My treasured possession out of all the nations—for the whole earth is Mine.…

Revelation 12:14
But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle to fly from the presence of the serpent to her place in the wilderness, where she was nourished for a time, and times, and half a time.

I'm telling you , my mind would be directed to scripture when I would hear certain songs.

Personally I do not listen to this band any more but my mother did. Maybe it was a way for God to keep me close to Him. Not all the music in my house was positive. But God seemed to have blocked out the garbage, and certain songs I could deal with.

Came across a nice acoustic version of Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Thunder & Rain.

In the other So, what are you listening to? thread, it seems most folks focus primarily on Christian music, which is quite appropriate in the forum. I do not intend for this to be an inappropriate thread, and if any member goes too far off topic, or crosses the line of decency, I kindly ask the moderator(s) to close this thread. I personally consider crossing the line to include posting names of bands or songs that are indecent, or linking to youtube videos that contain explicit content not suitable for the family-friendly nature of this board.

Until that time, though, I'm curious what my fellow BB members listen to when not tuning in to the local Christian stations.

I'm a big fan of piano music and I love the works of Ludovico Einaudi and Helen Jane Long. Long worked with Howard Shore on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. Einaudi has been in the composing game for quite a while. His work is often heard as background music on BBC's Top Gear.

Here's a sample of Einaudi's work:
Nuvole Bianche =
Ancora =
Stella del mattino =
Giorni Dispari =
Al Di La del Vetro =

Here's a sample of Helen Jane Long's work:
Procelain (full album) = Porcelain (full album)~Helen Jane Long
The Aviators (extended edition) = YouTube
Classic rock stations ,as in 60's and 70's
