show just ONE Scripture that says that salvation is by grace ALONE, apart from repenting of sins?
Psalms 65, specifically 4:

" Blessed [is the man whom] thou choosest, and causest to approach [unto thee], that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, [even] of thy holy temple."

Understanding that it is God that chooses someone by:

1) Ordaining them to eternal life, see Acts of the Apostles 13:48
2) Foreknowing them and predestinating them conformed to the timgage of His Son, see Romans 8:29-30
3) Choosing them "in Christ" See Ephesians 1:4-12
4) Creating them in Christ Jesus, making them His workmanship, see Ephesians 2:10
5) Choosing them to salvation by sanctifying their spirit and granting them the belief of the truth ( Philippians 1:29 )

and by His grace causes them to approach Him by opening their hearts so that they then listen to His words ( Acts of the Apostles 16:14 ),
that one Scripture, all by itself, makes the Lord the cause of the repentance.

This is why repentance must be granted, because of man's hard heart ( Romans 1:18-32, Romans 3:10-18, John 3:19-20, Romans 2:1-11, Psalms 10, Psalms 14, Psalms 53, Psalms 58:3, Jeremiah 13:23, etc ).

Grace alone, my friend, and that is all that we as believers stand on.
We do not stand on our belief, our repentance, our faith, our decision, our works, our anything.

We stand on Christ and His work on our behalf, and that, SBG is the very thin line that separates us from the Lake of Fire...
Why we are "scarcely saved", and yet, sure in our salvation.

likes make their heart repent and believe, so that the sinner has no involvement? This is totally unbiblical!
You misunderstand, my friend.
The sinner is involved...

They are the objects of His grace and respond to it, willfully.
that is what the new birth does...
Change our hearts from rejecting His words, to at last listening to them and knowing that they are the truth.

The new birth results in a person being willing to repent and believe, instead of being unwilling to repent and believe...
It's that simple. :)

διά when used in Ephesians 2:8, is used with the genitive, and has the meaning here, "by means of" the faith of the repentant sinner. It is their faith that they place in the Lord Jesus Christ, that saves them. This faith comes from hearing of the Word of God, as Paul tells us in Romans 10.
I almost spilled by coffee when I saw this on topic post. Why do you think "by means of" rather than "by reason of?" It is what God does "by reason of" faith that results in salvation. Our faith is not the mechanism that accomplishes salvation.

it is CONDITIONAL on REPENTING and BELIEVING! Any problems with this, take it up with the Lord!
I'm sorry, SBG...what you're describing is God making His gift of eternal life dependent upon us repenting and believing.
Again, we're back to doing something to gain His favor, are we not?

Is that not merit?
How is it that you are unable to see that God is obligated to rebellious sinners under this system?:(

Soteriology 101 is God alone, plus nothing...
Salvation is of the Lord, start to finish.:)
