Had a lovely chat with 16 year old grandson. Everyone is at the beach, but he is complaining he didn't know that they were going to be away until the 4th of January. He likes to be at home with his computer and his "work".

Dropping in between activities. Dishes are washing and we are getting ready to go to church.

We have a lovely time opening gifts, snacking, talking with Ed's son, daughter, and her husband.

Of course, step son, the baby of that side of the family got most of the presents. We are played tricks on him. He even had to hunt one of his gifts.

It has been a lovely day and there's more to come.

Merry Christmas to All! What a lovely day we had here in Central Oklahoma. Mild but a little windy! Sun was shining! Children were playing with their toys.

My son and family called from Florida where they are celebrating Christmas to wish us Merry Christmas. They played on the beach and ate their Christmas dinner on a picnic table. ;) They are really having fun. They should be back home by the end of next week.

Christmas day was great here, too! We had a wonderful Christmas breakfast, then just my husband and I and the children opened our gifts. We just relaxed most of the morning. We went to my parents house for Christmas dinner about 1. It was delicious. Then we opened gifts from them. They then came to our house to open more gifts from other family members and our's. I made white hot chocolate and we had finger foods. Then when it got a little dark,we drove around looking at Christmas lights. We took my parents home about 6ish.

Then My sweet husband suprised us with a horse drawn carriage ride. It was fun and a great holiday memory!

After all this,we went back home and made homemade pizzas for a late dinner. (This is our Christmas night tradition-we have been doing this even before children)

Today,we are doing nothing! Just staying home and being together!

Molly, you are so blessed with a wonderful family and they are blessed to have you.

Thank you for sharing your day...A horse drawn carriage ride....how very special.

We just returned from Mardel's, A Christian Book Store. My husband had a gift certificate there. He did not find anything to buy, but I did. I bought Bibles for two of my youngest grandchildren. I am amazed at the Bibles that are designed for children. The print is so small. I finally found two that I thought would be suitable. I found special gifts for one of our widow friends. I was so busy last August that I forgot her birthday. I not sure if this present will be for last year or next year.

Ed found a VegieTale Tie that matched his new suit.

I have been ordered online, food, clothes, and shoes. I am really getting spoiled.

Oh, I forgot....our central heat quit working sometime yesterday afternoon. We didn't notice until after the sun went down. We checked everything....It would not work...The unit is in our attic.

Thankfully, it did not get below freezing last night. So we just added another blanket to the bed and waited until this morning to call a service person.

Before the service person could arrived, Ed went into the attic and discovered that a door had fallen from the unit and that door has to be on it to engage a switch. Some kind of safety feature that is not explained in the intruction book or on the unit itself. After he placed the door on the unit, it worked!!!! Saved us the service call fee (which I spent at Mardel's)

Our fireplace and oven kept us warm until the problem was solved.

Today I will be doing laundry, cleaning up the house a little this morning. I have taken down all the Christmas stuff, except the tree in the breakfast room and the outdoor things. We are leaving these up until after New Year's. So,cleaning is in order as I pack up some of the Christmas things.

After lunch, the girls and I will be going to Wal-Mart for some grocery shopping.

Tonight,we will just be home having dinner and family worship time.

We are not having school this week,so we are just enjoying the *down* time.

I hope you all have a good day.

This is a beautiful Lord's Day! Another year and a continued opportunity to serve our Lord.

I have one room undecorated....why did I decorate every room? For the fun and joy of it! Now I will have the fun and joy of undecorating.....

We are taking down the rest of our Christmas decorations today, too. Most of it is already done, while baby was napping this morning we got a lot done.

I'm making those crescent rolls with the little cocktail hot dog things for lunch. I think for dinner I will probably make something simple like rice pilaf, black eye peas, and baked chicken....

It is rainy and cold here. This afternoon....we will be resting and watching TV Land. They are showing first shows from like Andy Griffith, etc. My husband will probably watch some football later, too. May make popcorn. May take a nap....

Ah well, at least I help support the plumbers in this town.
And at least my tree root problem seems to be under control.
Have been moving things around in the garage, from the minor stream caused by the water heater going out this morning. At least we still do have some hot water.
If it can't be tightened when he comes tomorrow, we will have to pay double what a water heater normally costs. Because city code now requires 18 inches off the floor, and this will require new connections. Oh well, I knew it was coming.
And it didn't happen last week, which would have been a pain.

We have the Christmas tree lights on, some football game on (I really don't pay attention - only our oldest watches) and the cat and dog are snoring. Chilly, overcast day. Will probably have a fire in the fireplace and chips and dip.

The Return of the King last night at the movies was even better the second time around.

Still waiting on the plumber to work on the hot water heater. At least we do have some hot water.

Beautiful, sunny, windy day.

Today is reading, sorting through some closets,
laundry, normal stuff.
Got to finish the last of the college applications for our oldest.

This has been a day of rest and preparation for Sunday worship.

We're going to visit my mother tomorrow.

My son and his family have returned safely from Florida. I'm glad they are home. They kept me posted via the internet. It is better than the telephone. I could tell when they logged on and then they would relate where they were. I was suprised that they returned so early today. They were in Panama City, Fl. yesterday.

I received a new dress and new shoes today. I really like ordering on line. Dress and shoes fit perfectly. It is certainly better than running all over town trying to find what you want.

I just had fun shopping for shoes on line. I found an outlet store that had 1991 pairs of shoes in my size. I must be difficult to please. I only found about 5 pair that I really liked.

Hope you all have a great day today and tomorrow.

Hope you get your hot water heater fixed, Karen.

When we sold our house, I was afraid they were going to make us redo the hot water heater because it was on the floor and not 18 inches above, but we didn't have to. The buyer didn't request an inspection.

We had a great day today. Wonderful Church Service. My son and his family came over and we had another Christmas Party.

Then church service and home to watch the football game. Well, the Sooners who were number 1 all year lost tonight so we are sad.

, but we have had an exciting year even if we didn't win the national champs.

I think that it was great that a team that had not won in 40 years now has the national championship.

Well, it is back to work and school for everyone tomorrow.

I have so much to do tomorrow. I don't know where to start. I need to make a list.

Hope you all had a great week-end and a great week ahead.

Today, it is cold, cold, cold. 10 degrees and -2 windchill.

I have an appointment with the eye doctor. I have lost a pair of glasses and I like to have at least two pair because I am nearsighted.

I can read, work the computer, etc. just fine, but I can't drive without my glasses.

I can remember when I had that pair last....if I could I would find them, I think. :(

Bitter cold here, although supposed to be 55 tomorrow. At least I am the proud owner of a brand new, shiny hot water heater with new safety features, an approved 18 inches from the ground, and an approved attic vent.

On the phone a lot today making arrangements for my son's upcoming Eagle Scout ceremony in a couple of weeks.
Also trying to get windshield in one vehicle fixed. They're supposed to be coming to pick up the truck but aren't here yet.

Also have been fiddling with new computer. Old one crashed, but new one requires more fine-tuning than the ads suggest, especially with the bundled internet software.
But it should be great when it all works.

So back to the real world after the holidays. Always a hard transition for me!

Hello All,

I am new here. Today I am at work, I work outside the home. I am a secretary and unfortunatly, I have lots of down time. I was searching for a place to meet Baptist Women today, and low and behold, I found this website. After work I will go home to my husband and my two little girls. We will have dinner (I don't know what yet, probably something small) and then when I send them off to bed I will read my bible some, and my book "A Woman After God's Own Heart" by Elizabeth George.

Blessings to you all sisters!

Just returned from my daily errands. I am actually a day ahead. I was scheduled to get a perm tomorrow and everything worked out so I got it today.

Went by the bank, one of the vice-presidents is a dear friend and she told me that the youth minister that we just hired is her cousin. Small world!
