God the Father? No.
What about God the Son?
Is it really that painful of a question?

God the Father? No.
Is the Blessed Virgin St. Mary the Mother of God? Yes.
Why do so many protestants take issue with referring to the blessed virgin St. Mary mother of God?
Serious question I see this all the time. especially coming from Baptist/Evangelicals.
No. Mary is the biological mother of Jesus. John 1:1 tells us "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". Mary was not present "in the beginning".Is the Blessed Virgin St. Mary the Mother of God?
I take issue with it because it's misleading. Mary is not the mother of Christ's divine nature, but only His human nature. Why do so many protestants take issue with referring to the blessed virgin St. Mary mother of God?
I've had this discussion with Catholic friends, and it is a serious topic. It comes down to a lack of understanding of the Hypostatic Union of the two natures of Christ. This short article from CARM gives a good summary - Hypostatic Union.Serious question I see this all the time. especially coming from Baptist/Evangelicals.
