When God calls, he calls his elect and not all of the elect will come. The incident where he called them to a wedding and one came without the wedding garment on ( the wedding garment being the righeousness of Christ). The one that did not have on the right garment was trusting in his own righteous works. Matt 7:13-14 explains this with the two gates and paths. Both gates are the elect of God, the wide gate are those who are trusting in their own good works for eternal salvation and the strait gate are those that the Holy Spirit has revealed the truth to.

Im enjoying your posts Forest .... great way to wake up in the morning (thank you) :applause:

Let us continue to speak the truth, especially since it is such a wonderful truth:thumbsup: For what we proclaim is no mere possibility of salvation, but salvation itself. We preach that Jesus died for His people, actually dying in their place. He redeemed them from the terrible bondage of their sin. He propitiated the wrath of the Father on their behalf. He reconciled them to God. he is a sufficient & entirely complete Savior. And when He said, "It is Finished" (John 19:20), it really was finished! Salvation was completed. Therefore, all who believe on Him have been saved by Him, and there is nothing more to add :love2:.

So, you're saying that some of God's elect won't be saved? Wow.

How can both gates be the elect of God? The wide gate is the way to destruction. Are you saying that God elects some for hell?

How can the man without a wedding garment be the elect of God? He was thrown into hell. Again, you have the elect being sent to hell.

Please explain.

Matt 7:13-14, All of those that go in both gates are God's elect children. The ones that go in the wide gate are those of his elect that are trusting in their good works for eternal salvation. All those that go in the strait are those that the Holy Spirit has revealed the truth to. The wide gate are the "many", and the strait gate are the "few".

This is false doctrine, plain and simple

EWF better rethink his praise of these kind of posts.

I'm not saying that at all. All of God's elect are saved without the loss of one John 6:37-41.

What do you mean then? You are posting "double speak"....

Destruction in Matt 7:13 is not hell. It is not being in fellowship with God.

Does God call all mankind or just his elect?
Actually God only calls those who are to do certain things. Such as Pastors, missionaries or to fullfill His purpose for them. If He only called the elect there would have to be a lot more Christian Jews than there actually is.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Wrong, just plain wrong....

Can you point me to a verse or passage where the words pastor and called are used in the same passage or verse?

There is a way that seems right unto man but the end thereof is the way of death, death is a seperation, and those in Matt 7:13 are seperated from a fellowship with God. Even those who are born again can seperate themselves from a fellowship with God when they are tempted by their own lust and enticed, and when lust hath concieved it brings forth sin and sin, when it is finished bringeth forth death (seperation from a fellowship with God, until they repent and come back into a good fellowship with God.James 1:13-15.

A child of God NEVER loses fellowship with God. When dad whipped me for doing something wrong, I was still his son. Same way when we sin, we get the "rod of correction" because we are His child.

What he's 'conjurin' up is actually much more acceptable than the blatant insertion into the text what is not there that 'you people' do.

The Prophet is telling 'that generation', to whom He was sent, that few of them would escape the wrath that was soon to come (AD 66 - 70). Most would reject Him and perish along with that 'untoward generation'. It's actually an allusion to the Exodus generation of which most God was not well pleased and He destroyed them in the wilderness.
