Has anyone mentioned the article that was written in agape press yet? If not, I'll try to paste it here on the board.

Also, I saw both the movie and the documentary. They were both very good. The documentary was better than the movie. It was more in depth and promoted the gospel much better than the movie. Just my thoughts on the topic.

The shepards are only as good as the leadership. The leadership has demonstrated very little discernment. God will eventually remove the sheep from the "shepherds" as it is written.

So let me get this straight. According to you:

If a pastor doesn't speak out against the movie because he hasn't seen it or has no knowlege of it, then he's choked on the cares of the world and not feasting enough on the Word of God.

If a pastor does go see the movie, or researches it, and gives it his thumbs up, then he's choked on the cares of the world and not feasting enough on the Word of God.

If a pastor denounces the movie, whether he's seen it or not, whether he's researched it or not, then he's not choked on the cares of the world and feasting adequately on the Word of God.

Dunno, but Focus on the Family gives it a generally favorable review.

 You're the first anti-dobsonite I've ever come into contact with.

That about sums it up. [IMG]

If my pastor gives this movie a thumbs up knowing a homosexual activist was chosen for the starring role, I will find another church ASAP.

    Not a threat, a promise.

But it will be highly, highly unlikely that my pastor will do so.

</font>[/QUOTE]I like your style LE. The sheep will be taken away as it is written, others will flee the insanity of the luke warm tossed to and fro church on their own.

Okay, I was just curious to what extent peoples' double-standards apply.

Romans 12:[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I'm willing to bet dollar to doughnuts that you've never checked out the movie review website for yourself.

I couldn't help but notice you completely disregarded by question to you. Not surirising. LE answered it, but only partly (which is surprising, because whenever I ask her a question directly, she never answers it, and whenever I praise her, she ignores it).
This is not an issue of conforming to the world. It's an issue of letting each be convinced in his own mind.
On the contrary. It's your standard, not God's standard, that you're expecting everyone to follow.

Then please list for us all the ways in which this movie is not, as you say, conforming to the world.

As far as letting each be convinced in his own mind, that argument won't hold an ounce of water when there are famous evangelicals persuading flocks of sheep to go see it, i.e. James Dobson and Jerry Falwell. The uninformed are likely to say, if Jerry Falwell recommends it or if James Dobson recommends it, there must be nothing wrong with it.

On the contrary, I don't expect "everyone" to follow my standard. I DO expect Christian films and producers of Christian films to set a Godly standard which does not include hiring homosexual activists to play in their movies. I DO expect well-known evangelicals to take a firm stand when there is sin or the appearance of evil in the camp. Those are God's standards - to refrain from the very APPEARANCE of evil. Those are God's words, not mine.
