This is a ridiculous statement! You can't mean this, and surely with a little thought you will change your view.

Think of Woody Allen playing this part. Then think of Clint Eastwood playing it. :D (Not that I would want either one playing it!) Then try to say once again with a straight face that "actors make no difference to the story." ;)

In all of the discussions going on about this movie, I have yet to see where anyone has suggested that maybe, just maybe, God can use this movie to turn Chad Allen's life around? Is anybody praying for that to happen?

Probably not.

Also, it's really a good thing God didn't call some of you to be missionaries to some remote tribal culture. It just wouldn't be right to share Christ with people who don't wear clothes. Thank goodness God loves them because I don't see too many around here that do.

Carry on...

Chad is in the movie. You say go see the movie so more christian movies will be made. As soon as a move that is christian is made I will probably go see it. but this one is definitely not christian.

Ok, lets start hiring Gay Activist, North American Man Boy Love association members, and Mafia hit men to star in Christian movies in the hopes we can get them saved....... This is beside the point.

Ok, since we are being friendly and such, maybe it is time for me to get up on my little soapbox. Pastor SBC, it appears that you are the face of the new, young SBC Pastors. Let me give you my personal opinion of the SBC as an organization. The SBC promoted the Passion Movie. The Passion Movie mixed some Biblical account with the visions of two Catholic mystics that are not even in agreement. If the "prophets" test the "prophets", it is kind of a no brainer. Since the Bible forbids mysticism, Mel's "vision" should have been discussed as something to be avoided, not promoted by the powers to be. They not only flocked to it, but told everyone they knew to go and see it.Next the SBC was boycotting Disney because of it's pro homosexual stance. As soon as Disney offered to make Narnia, all of a sudden homosexuality was not a problem anymore. They should have checked in the Bible. It is still a sin there. A double minded man (or organization) is unstable in all its ways. Now you, as an SBC Pastor is attempting to be an apologist for a "Christian" movie that cast a homosexual advocate, who grew up Christian so he knows better, in the leading role.It appears that you may have a bright future in SBC leadership. </font>
Your opinion of me and the SBC matters not in this discussion. Therefore I will hold back what I think of your post.

My advise, support the movie they made, and send them a letter and let them know you don't want anymore activist hired.

At least LadyEagle voices her views without disparaging those who disagree with her. She doesn't tell them they need to read their Bible or they are "blinded." I've noticed this about her posts in general on other threads as well.

Thanks, Lady Eagle! It makes me respect your comments more. Same for JohnofJapan.

I must say that a few of the posters have got me thinking about this, and I am not as sure that I want to see this movie now. However, I would like to emphasize that it is NOT because people have told me I am "compromised" and "blinded" and need to read my bible that got me thinking. It is the Holy Spirit.

You people who are putting others down need to realize you are not the Holy Spirit. State your views, give the information, and let the Holy Spirit do his work.

Oh...sorry. I guess God being able to use a situation to turn someone's life around IS beside the point. My apologies.

This is a very sad thread.

LadyEagle, Go see the move. If you feel it is unbiblical or does not have the gospel in it. Send me the bill and I'll pay your expenses. ;)

Marcia, you make some great points here. And if I have made any remarks here that seem to be putting others down I apologize.

You are correct. Lady and John do seem to always post their views without running others down.

It is a good reminder for all of us.

</font>
We all hope for Chad's salvation. If that is all you statement was about I missunderstood your point. But the possiblity that he might get saved does not change the issue. It would not serve as grounds for hiring activist in the future. As it stands it appears he is not going to change and is still promoting the homosexual agenda. But God is prefectly willing and able to save him without our having to put him in the role of martyred missionaries.

Thanks for the offer, Bunyon, but my line has been drawn in the sand. (my spiritual/personal convictions, what I believe, black and white, no gray)

Maybe when Madonna or Eminem play in a Christian movie produced by Christians, I'll go check it out......NOT! But it will probably be a box office hit and be endorsed by many Christins and even Jerry Falwell and James Dobson.

OK, I understand. But I am just as against the use of Chad Allen as you are. But I found the Gospel to be powerfully portrayed in the movie. I am surprised because the book is not really along those lines and I doubted a company that was foolish enough to hire a Gay Activist to play Nate Saint had enough sense to get it right. But it appears they did get it right. Although, Chad is now using his clout to go on Larry King and promote his agenda, which I knew he would, the movie is helpful to the cause of Christ.

So you sound divided, Bunyon. Conflicted about it. Is that so? See, what I meant in my post is the old sayting, it's not the money, it's the principle of the thing. See?

I am not divided or conflicted. I see it as two separate issues. His acting is not a problem for me. All actors in christian or other movies have sin. My problem is that he is shouting his sin from the rooftops and trying to promote his sin to ohters. This is not an issue in the paid service of acting as far as I am concerned. This is an issue of giving him a platform to be even more authoritative in his activism after the servise is rendered. It was foolish for them to hire him for that reason. As far as the movie goes, I think it effectively commnicates the gospel in a powerful way. I know you will agree if you ever see it.

But I think we can address the issue of them not hiring activist in the future witout hurting a good movie that is good for Chrsit, shooting ourselves in the foot, so to speak. Give em' the benefit of the doubt on this one, and if they do it again, I'll join you in boycotting the next one.

Ya reckon they will be selling the kids 'loincloths' and plastic spears?

Writing ETE telling them that you are not going to support them if they use gay people and going to see the one movie with a gay person is being double minded.

You cannot send mixed signals. If you write and say you will not support them, don't go see the movie in the first place.

The sales off of this movie will indicate that it makes no difference who they use to star; if the purse is big.

The less go to see it, the better the message from the people.
