It should be a requirment before posting on this thread to listen to this guys sermon. then you might understand where everyone is comming from. preachers like this are scary and do more harm than good for God's people and those who are lost.

I grew up in an atmosphere in church that preached and taught along the same lines. I have struggled to break free of that mentality ever since. The idea is that the man does not lead the household rather he controls it with an iron fist. It is not about the husband and wife working together to run and raise the family but about the man browbeating the wife into doing what he wants without question. This mentality has lead to issues that my wife and I deal with on a regular basis. One of those issues is one of rage and anger at the family when my perception of what they should be and do is not fulfilled.

This dude is dangerous to his family and church. It is so sad that insted of growing his people in grace and truth through discipleship and teaching, he is brow beating his people into legalism. This is not a way of living that says what does God want me to do, but rather one that says what does my pastor think I should do. Only the very immature promote this style of living and only the very insecure leader uses it to lead his people. The people are usually very loyal to a fault which keeps them intrapped or they are so immature in Christ that they accept this teaching without any thought or prayer.

Does this guy ever respond to posts or does he just post?

Occasionally. He may come back in a page or two briefly. I don't know why he keeps posting these things here? After his initial reception (the "male gynecologists are perverts" thread) he must know we are not like-minded with him, and he certainly isn't interested in discussion, so I don't see the appeal. Apparently he posts the same thing on several boards, though.

He just posts.I think he thinks of it as an extension of his ministry and he is preaching to us.How blessed we are to be in his internet presence.

At least one other board where he posts in the same manner is pretty closely like-minded with him......but not to his extremes. Yet he doesn't return there either, so I think probably Plain Old Bill is correct.

And Frenchy, the BB is not Nazi Germany, so Im glad Im not required to have listened to the sermon. My point in my post was that smashing a TV does not necessarily mean that it was some kind of angry tirade and was a bad example for kids. It can be done effectively, depending on to whom and where the action is taking place. Why do I have to keep restating that? GENERAL statement.....not referring to this man's sermon.....would have made no difference if I HAD listened to the sermon, I'd still say the same thing.

Bapmom if you don't vote don't complain about those in office.

You didn't listen to the sermon so you didn't hear all his yelling and screaming throughout. it wasn't just his breaking of the tv (i stopped listening before he did that and knew this guy was wacked, then i listened through the whole sermon) it was his whole demenor and put downs and CONTROLLING mehtods that were offensive and dangerous.

I didn't listen to the sermon either--didn't have to. I have a good imagination as to what was said. I know a pastor who preaches along the same kind of stuff.

My question to him is, "how many people got saved after listening to your sermon? Were Christians drawn closer to the Lord? And most importantly was the Lord glorified?"

Yes, I know, Frenchy, thank you.

Makes no difference still.

Id ask that too, Songbird. Very fair questions.

This poor preacher has been ostracized by the majority on BB who wouldn't know him if they triped over him in the middle of the road. I bet this same bunch would go to hear a rock star and watch him bite the head off a living bird and not say a word.

I don't think it's his smashing the TV they don't like I think it's his straight forward preaching.

I didn't listen to his sermon and I have no intention of doing so.

The MAIN reason he keeps starting threads is to get his sermons listened to and I don't intend to give him the satisfaction. It's free advertising for him.

I reported his very first post and suggested that the link to his web site be removed.

Those are supposed to be put in the profile, not on an open board. If one wants to advertise, they should PM the webmaster and pay for the privilege.

I'm not sure why they haven't all been deleted (the links).

Maybe because he hasn't posted in one of my forums.

Shall I point out that you wouldn't know us if you tripped over us in the middle of the road (although I don't know why we'd be lying there!)?

I share the same respect for you.

The "Christian" attitude on here wouldn't do much to turn folks toward Christ. Why do you all persist in beating up on this guy just b/c he's standing up for what's right? How many of you are telling folks about what the Bible says? We need more guys like him who will get behind the pulpit and PREACH!!! without being freaked out about what the "soft-skinned, thenthitive" church members will say after the service. As Larry Brown would say, most nowaday preachers "don't have enough spirituality to blow the fuzz off a gander's snout". The Bible says, "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes." You're not really mad at the preacher--you're mad at what God says...and most of you should know by now that people don't get very far in life when they're mad at God.

We're "beating up" on this brother because he has the same attitude as a Pharisee.
How many of you are telling folks about what the Bible says?
I can't answer for everybody on here, but I am. The problem is Mr. Sanderson isn't.
We need more guys like him who will get behind the pulpit and PREACH!!!
...and less smashing electronics to pieces with a bat!
without being freaked out about what the "soft-skinned, thenthitive" church members will say after the service.
You must be referring to the little children heard crying because they had the snot scared out of them by a crazed "preacher".
As Larry Brown would say, most nowaday preachers "don't have enough spirituality to blow the fuzz off a gander's snout".
The coach of the Knicks? Who cares what Larry Brown says.
You're not really mad at the preacher--you're mad at what God says...and most of you should know by now that people don't get very far in life when they're mad at God.
Can you kindly point to the Book and Chapter where God smashes a TV to bits? Mr. Sanderson's message was not from God...it was from Mr. Sanderson.

BTW...welcome to the BB. I hope all of your posts will not follow the likes of this one.

Whew! Thank goodness my TV isn't wicked!

(I'll suspect otherwise if it turns itself on and then continues playing even after being unplugged.

Frenchy....

honestly, you have to start reading more accurately BEFORE you start your unwarranted attacks.....

DodgeRAMFanatic.....a Dodge RAM is a pickup. And you can be a fan of a team without having to go to the games, as if that really is what you're complaining about.

DRF,

Please read my posts before castigating me as one who is "mad at what God says." You will find that my arguments were not about TV per se, but rather that a violent outburst by a husband to a question from his wife or kids is NOT appropriate.

If your idea of preaching is to produce sufficient air pressure to clean a waterfowl's bill, you might want to reconsider your definition. I preach, but it is more about sharing the truth of God's Word than the trademark of a Louisville Slugger. And God is blessing us here, and changing lives...enough said.

And (since I did listen to Mister Sanderson's sermon), I might also say that I can present God's word without resorting to base language such as "faggot" and the like, as Mister Sanderson did. I don't feel the need to scare young children, as Mister Sanderson did. And I don't have to encourage violent responses to my wife's questions, as Mister Sanderson did.
