I have continued this discussion, to put to those who are pro gun for everyone, this simple question

You and your family of say, 6, have a couple of guns, which you take with you wherever you go. You are being mugged by a gang of 10-15 heavily armed thugs, who murder as a living.

Exactly HOW will your TWO guns "save" or "protect", your family?

Do you choose to all die; or, will you call on the Might of our Great God?

Your pacifist position is a common one held by many good men over the centuries, not just the Quakers. Back in the day, German Anabaptists were divided between Staff Carriers (pacifists) and Sword Bearers (non-pacifists). English Baptists in the days of Cromwell were non-pacifists for the most part.

look at the present problems with Russia invading Ukraine, which has left many thousands killed and huge parts of the country reduced to rubble. If Russia were not a nuclear power, with weapons of mass destruction, I am very sure that Putin would have been stopped many months ago. The fact that they do have nukes, and Putin is a very unstable guy, there is no telling what he might do, should we try to force him to stop. He would probably send off a nuke to a country near him, like Finland. The person who invented nuclear weapons, was no doubt a very wicked and evil person! This has made our world a very unsafe place, as now the demon possessed idiot in North Korea, probably also has nukes! China, which their own nuclear weapons, are in the process of invading Taiwan, as the world will be unable to stop them, or punish them, as the majority of our cheap good are from China!

When you say only use NT examples, you remove great victories and teachings in Christ in the OT applicable to today.

I Sam 14:6 says, And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised, it may be that the Lord will work for us: for there is no restraint of the Lord, to save by many or few."

Jonathan and his armour bearer slew 20 Philistines by the hand of the Lord. Did they go up without weapons to do the work of the Lord? Did they not have faith? This is what happened when the mob of killers sought to kill the righteous.

Many who have guns in the United States are not even covenantly associated with the body of Christ. To lump in the actions of the ungodly with the members of Christ is to bring a slander upon the righteous.

To disarm those who responsibly use their firearms would open up law abiding citizen to a slaughter.

The problem with in the United States is that judgment and justice are not carried out. The leftist liberal polices of lawlessness under to guise of social justice reform has created a disaster here because of their ungodliness.

As I said before, if I must die because I take a stand for Christ, that is something I must do rightly for his kingdom.

To die because of being attacked by a mob of the wicked is something I do not plan to do.

In closing, isn't it ironic that the same armed American people who were freed from the tyranny of the oppresor Great Britian, is the same nation that helped prevent England from becoming a Nazi occupied land. Yet you still want to disarm us.

Why do you assume this is an either or scenario when it can be a both scenario.

A gun is not an evil tool. How it gets used can be for both evil and good. Somehow you want the tool to only be used by evil people and imagine that is what is best for society. Why do you celebrate evil doers using guns and imagine that Godly persons are evil if they have and use a gun? In your world it seems you would condemn David as having no faith for carrying a sling with 5 rocks.

Perhaps your second question is not actually a simple one, and perhaps it involves use of the fallacy of false dilemma. You only offered two options when they may be others such as doing both. While calling on our great God, someone could take action to do all that they can to try to protect their family. Almighty God could use one or two to deliver from a much larger gang.

According to your own example, it would be likely that those who murder as a living would murder all the ones that they mug in order not to leave any witnesses who could testify concerning their crimes. If they did not intent to murder everyone, perhaps they could plan to use or sell the wife and children as sex slaves.
Perhaps your question could be countered or answered with another question: would you suggest that you would rather trust your family to the evil intentions of a gang of murderers instead of making any effort to protect them?

Stupid question. That scenario does not statistically happen. In probable self defense scenarios, my likelihood of successfully defending myself from attack, by my possessing a gun, is very high.
