The problem with this is that it lumps the unbelievers together with the believers of all time. The OT church (Israel) was a Church/State made up of believers and unbelievers. The NT Church (Israel) is believers only.
Why do you include non believers who did not follow the Law to be included as proper" Israel" referred to for promises?

Jesus told them to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And this they did baptizing in the name of Jesus Christ.
Uh, you are aware, are you not, that the command to do something "in the Name of" is a statement of authority not of nomenclature?

"Stop in the name of the law." The cops name is not "Law." He is stating his authority.

Baptize in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" is a statement of authority. "Baptize by the authority given by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit."

Baptize in the Name of Jesus is to baptize with His authority. "All authority is given unto Me in Heaven and on earth, go you therefore, . . . ."

That is the whole point of the "keys to the kingdom" teaching of Jesus. Jewish Rabbis in training would accompany their teacher/mentor into the storehouse of the scrolls in the temple complex. After completing their studies they would be examined by the council and if they passed they would be given their own key to the storehouse. They would wear the key around their necks which, when seen by the people, would prove their authority to teach.

Jesus told His disciples He would give them the Keys to the Kingdom. That is, they were given the authority to proclaim Kingdom Truth to the people.

It has nothing to do with the name "Jesus" or the name "Yehweh." It has to do with authority!

Please Dave, again I encourage you to find a good bible believing, bible teaching, bible preaching church and humbly place yourself under the teaching authority of a God gifted man and learn from him the Truth of God's word.

Your statements above are getting very close to Modalism, a heresy straight out of the pit of hell.

Please, find that church pastored by a God gifted man and submit yourself to his pastoral watch-care.

There is no such thing as a loner Christian. We travel this world together with others of like faith in a church chartered by the Lord Jesus Christ, Who commands our faithful attendance and submission to the leadership He has put in place.

the doctrine of the Trinity can be summarized in seven statements. (1) There is only one God. (2) The Father is God. (3) The Son is God. (4) The Holy Spirit is God. (5) The Father is not the Son. (6) The Son is the not the Holy Spirit. (7) The Holy Spirit is not the Father.
the name of Jesus is not the name for all 3 of them, correct?

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” (Colossians 2:8–9)

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved.”” (Acts 4:12)
Yes, Jesus is the Messiah and Savior, but the Father and the Holy Spirit were also invoved in salvation, correct?

Interesting. I would have not guessed that at Southwestern in the early 1900s, but that was just an assumption on my part (based on what I think B. H. Carroll taught/held).
It would take some heavy, scholarly research to find out for sure what was taught there back in the day by the profs. Carroll (1843-1914) was not one of John R. Rice's teachers, having been in glory for about a decade.

If you do not mind reading a few paragraphs, this is my favorite creed defining the trinity.

THE SECOND HELVETIC CONFESSION

CHAPTER III
Of God, His Unity and Trinity
GOD IS ONE. We believe and teach that God is one in essence or nature, subsisting in himself, all sufficient in himself, invisible, incorporeal, immense, eternal, Creator of all things both visible and invisible, the greatest good, living, quickening and preserving all things, omnipotent and supremely wise, kind and merciful, just and true. Truly we detest many gods because it is expressly written: “The Lord your God is one Lord” (Deut.6:4). “I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me” (Ex. 20:2-3). “I am the Lord, and there is no other god besides me. Am I not the Lord, and there is no other God beside me? A righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me” (Isa. 45:5, 21). “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness” (Ex. 34:6).

GOD IS THREE. Notwithstanding we believe and teach that the same immense, one and indivisible God is in person inseparably and without confusion distinguished as Father, Son and Holy Spirit so, as the Father has begotten the Son from eternity, the Son is begotten by an ineffable generation, and the holy Spirit truly proceeds from them both, and the same from eternity and is to be worshipped with both.
Thus there are not three gods, but three persons, cosubstantial, coeternal, and coequal; distinct with respect to hypostases, and with respect to order, the one preceding the other yet without any inequality. For according to the nature or essence they are so joined together that they are one God, and the divine nature is common to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

For Scripture has delivered to us a manifest distinction of persons, the angel saying, among other things, to the Blessed Virgin, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God” (Luke 1:35). And also in the baptism of Christ a voice is heard from heaven concerning Christ, saying, “This is my beloved Son” (Mat. 3:17). The Holy Spirit also appeared in the form of a dove (John 1:32). And when the Lord himself commanded the apostles to baptize, he commanded them to baptize “in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit” (Matt. 28:19). Elsewhere in the Gospel he said: “The Father will send the Holy Spirit in my name” (John 14:26), and again he said: “When the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me,” etc. (John 15:26). In short, we receive the Apostles’ Creed because it delivers to us the true faith.

HERESIES. Therefore we condemn the Jews and Mohammedans, and all those who blaspheme that sacred and adorable Trinity. We also condemn all heresies and heretics who teach that the Son and Holy Spirit are God in name only, and also that there is something created and subservient, or subordinate to another in the Trinity, and that there is something unequal in it, a greater or a less, something corporeal or corporeally conceived, something different with respect to character or will, something mixed or solitary, as if the Son and Holy Spirit were the affections and properties of one God the Father, as the Monarchians, Novatians, Praxeas, Patripassians, Sabellius, Paul of Samosata, Aetius, Macedonius, Anthropomorphites, Arius, and such like, have thought.

You then agree that Jesus name is just for Himself, and that God is 3 distinct Persons?

It is a member of God's church. Have you placed local church membership above being in the body of Christ?
Huh? I have no idea what you are talking about. How in the world did you get that from anything I've said?

But the very term in Greek ekklesia implies membership. In fact, the term "chose" in Acts 6 concerning the deacons indicates a vote.

If you study the Ecumenical Creeds, they state Jesus is the triune God as far as his person. Having a fully human nature consisting of body and soul. That is, Jesus is one Divine person with two natures. One fully human. The other fully divine.

they also state that god is the father and the Holy Spirit, and that those 2 are NOT Jesus, nor is he them, correct?
