Good grief! Columbus didn't even step foot on American soil let alone "discover" Canada. I discovered Canada in 1948. It was covered in mounds of snow and I invented the snowball on the streets of Montreal.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Just think Jim - you could make those snowballs today - and not even feel the cold.

Who says that there aren't any bright sides to diabetes and neuropathy!

Dan - neuroapthy in feet - some numbness in hands - but it may be carpel tunnel - due to all these postings I've been doing on BB!

Funny thing this neuropathy...if we have no feeling, why are we cold all the time? My hands are so cold, I could roll up rain in a ball and have a snowball......well, that is a porker, but it will do for a thought.

    Cheers,

    Jim

This whole process of diabetes is frustrating and weird. No two of us are exactly the same.

My wife has been told - because she has ciliac's disease (auto immune disease) - she could become a type I diabetic (another auto immune disease)at any time.

Well, of course, it was the diabetes which took my blood pressure out of order and caused my strokes. I was doing all the right things, and it still went out of control. All we can do is watch what we eat, drink and exercise....you know who controls the rest.

I still believe everything has a reason. I am doing aspects of ministry that I might never have considered before.

Some confuse the types of diabetes. Type I is usually brought on in childhood, but some adults go onto insulin straight off, but are still Type II or adult-onset diabetes. The need for insulin does not change the type.

I guess the major difference is that type 1 does not have the insulin and type II cannot convert the insulin.

Diabetes is diabetes and that is enough.

    Cheers,

    Jim

When my children were small, they would sing a song-in a little Missionary Baptist Church(ABA)-called, "Jesus Is Coming Soon". Part of it went like this:

Troubles will soon be o’er, happy forever more
When we meet on that shore, free from all care
Rising up in the sky, telling this world goodbye
Homeward we then will fly, glory to share

Looking forward to a time when there is no more pain or sorrow...but in the meantime, I'll work till Jesus comes!

I don't know when Jesus is coming, but I do know He is coming. He never told me to be anything but faithful and watching. So, I am faithfully watching whilst I work at doing faithfully what He commanded.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Morning to Granny and Ed,

It's nice to see you both up and around - hopefully taking nourishment!

Of course that was last night - I hope all is well for both of you today!

    Dan - just checking in!

Good morning, y'all...just practicing for when I get to come South.

Good to see folk coming into the tearoom, if not for a cuppa brew, at least for the common cup of fellowship in the Lord.

It is another sunny day for us as well and warming up. It is so nice to see the temperature rise above freezing each day.

    Cheers,

    Jim

It's supposed to hit 40ºF here today!

I like it as it gets warmer!

It's even light outside now - when I leave for work!

    I love it!

    Dan - easily pleased!

On Tuesday we are supposed to hit 8 which is about 44f....Lovely. That should melt some snow and then I can drive down the back acres.

    Cheers,

    Jim

It is really slow posting to-day

I saw 3 deer this morning! The other night it was 8 rabbits. Armadillos are tearing up the yard & another group of honey bees are moving to the other wall of my house. But I like living in the country.

BroJim, after I lived in Washington awhile, the folks down south sounded "funny" to me! They said I was the one who talked strange.

I guess I'll go try some of that raspberry tea my daughter gave me; don't think I'm gonna like it tho'...

We drive 25 miles one way - about twice a week - to take my wife to physical therapy!

Several times we have seen large groups of deer in fields - on the way. Each time they were eating!

Dan - no armadillos here - however!

To show how language can get us into trouble. When I first came over, I had a three bedroom flat and only used one. A young lady had arrived at the university, quite late, and needed a place to stay the night. So, I said, "I will bed you for the night." She slapped my face and walked away. I was stunned. All I said was that I would provide a bed for her to use that night. She didn't understand English until another Englishman explained what I was saying.

    Cheers,

    Jim
