I post on too many forums and forget that I haven't posted here to-day.

Well, greetings!

Ed, I never store addresses on my computer. Always write them in an address book the old fashioned way. Then, I never say anything that can't be repeated around the world either.

I am on dial up service; have no choice. Never had a problem with any viruses, but then, I am also on Windows 98 and the attackers seem more concerned with the new systems...they leave us alone. I do get a lot of terrible emails, but they all get deleted on Postini, so no problem, just an inconvenience.

Granny, you don't know how well off you are not knowing the computer "stuff"....I just type and hope. When computer literate daughter comes over to bring my computer up-to-date, it takes me a week to put it back where it was....youth!

Cheers,

Jim

Jim,

Howdy - neighbor to the cold north.

Did you have more snow today - I've been looking for your devotional!

Dan - you cold neighbor to the south!

Hi Dan,

Not more snow, just too busy these days. I am slow getting around to writing it out. Sometimes I have to go back and have another look. I should go back to writing it out when I do it at 5:AM

Perhaps I am getting lethargic.

Cheers,

Jim

Bro.Jim~"type and hope",haha, "that" I can relate to...as all I do is type & "hope" it goes thru...

When my brother sent me this thang, I really had no intentions of ever using it; my eyesight ain't what it used to be.

After I gave the other one away(which had belonged to my daughter, Farmer's Wife), I tho't..."aaahh~now I can get back to doing granny things".

I tried to trade, but as son'n'law would have it, he fixed da granny up & he put all the "proper stuff" on, I'm sure. So now, other things will just have to wait, cuz I'm a BB-junkie.

And I also write everything on scraps of paper, as I don't go be messing'round with none of them buttons/controls, etc. & I don't open those emails with paperclips(not that I've ever gotten any).

I can't fault the computer because after my strokes it became my "human" salvation. I learned how to think again, express myself in writing and literally speak again.

So, it was a gift from God, so to speak. I am just not as computer literate as I should be.

The computer playground is also a virtual mission field. Not only to reach the unsaved, but to reach the saved. There are so many needy souls on both sides of the fence, and we do need to minister to both.

Cheers,

Jim

Thankful

Jim, I was getting ready to say "Amen" and discovered that Ed had just posted. So I will agree with both of you.

We really don't know whom we will reach when we post on bulletin boards and we may never know the significance of this ministry.

The most useful web pages
addresses you need to have:

1. If you have access to people's IPs,
you need this IP checker:
http://www.arin.net/whois/

2. If you read posts on a bulletin board:
Urban Legends Reference Pages:
http://www.snopes.com/

3. Best current search engine:
http://www.google.com/

In June i celebrate my 20th year posting on
bulletin boards. Please note that this is
longer than there an Internet

Here is the prime directive of bulletin board
participation:

Read before you write.

I think I said good morning on the other site, but good morning anyway.

Dan, wish I had a quarter for all books I have written...in my head....Had manuscripts for my "famous" Rural Minister; the anecdotal ministry in the country. I let a friend read it and the question arose, What if someone says they recognize themself and sue you? I shelved the idea.....then I wrote,,,we you know how it goes.....

Cheers,

Jim

Jim,

Leave instructions in your will to publish the book after your death - they might be able to sue you then - but it wouldn't matter much!

Dan - another cheap answer - but you get what you pay for!

Well, that was sure the quickest $100 I ever spent! Ever been to WalMart at 6a.m. in the fabric dept. with too-many-women snatchin' & grabbin' at the $1/yd. sale??? W O W!!! What an experience!

I have only been to a Walmart shop twice. Both times were in the USA. I stay away from Walmart shops on principle. They move in, take over the area, and bring about the closure of a lot of small mum-and-pop shops.

Jim, you are so correct about WalMart, but after all other stores are closed, Walmart is the only choice in some of the small communities.

When I lived in the country, Walmart was the only place to shop unless I drove 50 miles to a large city. Now I have choices, and most of the time I will go to a Dollar Store to shop and to Goodwill for some items. It does embarrass me when at Goodwill, they want to give me a senior citizen discount on a $1.00 item.

I am really getting lazy, oops conservative, because I have found some wonderful, tasty food that can be delivered by the Schwann Truck. I am actually saving money on groceries by less trips to the grocery store. I don't like to shop for groceries at Wallmart because of the large quantities, so I shop at the grocery store that gives a percentage of my purchase to my church.

Good Morning, everyone.
