Well, Sheila, that is something we have little say about. The best plans of mice and men.

On the Latin word, you might be right on that one..sorry, I bowed out when the other came in..I try to avoid certain people anymore.

Cheers,

Jim

Well, i quit boycotting #33 and done gone boycottin' #34

Over there, a nice guy in Ireland asked:
"What ever happend to global warming?"

The weather you are expriencing is a proof
of the correctness of the theory of Global Warming.

"Global Warming" refers to a rise in the average temperature
of the earth. The low and high temperatures will alternate
MORE with global warming than without. Got it ? the average
goes up, the lows go down, and the highs go up.

BTW, the climate of Ireland/England will change.
Now the climate of the two big British Islands is driven
by the Gulf Stream. In fact, the Gulf Stream drops more
energy on the British Islands than the Sun does.
A very slight warming (maybe only 2ºF which has yet to
happen, the average, of course) might cause the Gulf
Stream to totally disappear. Some even say this
could happen as early as 2025 (most say later).
If the Gulf Sream is destroyed, Ireland/England would
take on the climate of Labrador. You know, Labrador,
the place where the native vegitation is the 1-meter high
evergreen bush.

So have a nice day, friend of Ireland -- Global Warming
is real and may ruin your life :(

I'd bring you an ice-pick, Shelia, but
they won't let me on the plane with it :(

YBIC,
the formerly uplifting Ed

O.K. #33 stayed up overnight so i could
read the end of it. So that means the fuss
i had with the coffee place has ended.
So I'm not boycotting anything on this
board any more.

But i am still boycotting Florida Orange
Juice (the Anita Bryant thing from the late 70s).

I'm still boycotting all the works
of L. R*n H*bbard and his successors
(dating from the early 80s) -- he is a
false prophet and a lousy SF writer (i.e.
a false profit).

Back in the middle 80s, when i first got on a
bulletin board (a precussor of the internet) i
was in a forum right next door (well in cyber space
right next door) to a private forum and a public forum
of the group of writers of L. R*n H*bbard (henseforth
in this message just "L"). These
members of L's sect were writing a series of
Science Ficiton (SF) books in the name of "L".
There is a story in the SF writers community that
L was a 3ed rate SF writer and couldn't make a living
with it. So he stated one day that he had figured out
how to make millions of dollars. He wrote a phony
bible-like religious document and founded a phony religion.
(That religion/sect is banned in Germany.) And he
made his millions (didn't keep him from dying
and going to hell, but he did make his millions.
L got a group of his sect members to write his SF for him.
They did write better SF than L, i hear (I say "I hear" cause
i never read any of that SF -- boycotting it, you know ;) ).

Ed,

There are some things that should be boycotted - and "L" is a good place to start. There have been many others who have done the same thing that he did - and gotten financial gain.

But I'll believe that your boycott against certain threads on BB is over - when I see a post of yours on that thread!

Dan - just trying to cause trouble - am I being successful?

Enough is enough. I'm boycotting ED until he puts up a picture of himself in a polka dot bow-tie! ;)
I slept in late. Time to get to the store for groceries. The girls are thrilled to be getting a late start to schoolwork today, but little do they know what I have planned. Mwah ha ha ha...
It feels downright warm here. I have the heat turned off and the window open, we're all in short-sleeved and there's people walking around with no coats.
It's PATHETIC that it's been so freezing cold for so long that 36 now feels like a summer day!

Ok Ok I got it finally L. Ron Hubbard....It toom me a bit, though.

Now to go back and re-read those posts.

I have been up and about since half four and accomplished nothing. Now, that is something.

Hello everyone. The net is still here! My, what a discovery and it is only 11:18...

Cheers,

 eek!

I had to work all day.
It was a primary day
(Oklahoma desided to have an
early primary so we can help
"choose" the candidates.

Ed,
Isn't it just a Democratic thing right now? Maybe I don't understand the system.

Cheers,

Jim

In Oklahoma only registered Democrats can
vote for Democratic candidates, only
registered Republicans can vote for
Republican candidates. Registered Independants
can not vote for anybody. There is
a man running against Geo.W Bush for
Republican. Actually Geo.W Bush is shadow
boxing. So in a practical sense
it is "just a Democratic thing right now".

An hour and a half after the polls close
in Oklahoma it is Edwards by a slim
(to close to call) margin.

Jim - I'm reminded that if I had been the only person - Jesus still would have died for me!

Ed - I am waiting patiently for you to post on another thread - just to see if you boycott is off or not!

Dan, No greater truth than this, that Jesus died for me. What's more, He took all my sin and buried it in hell, that I would gain heaven....Hence my life motto, taken from Jim Elliot: "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose."

Jim Elliot and I shared some aspects of life. We were both born in 1927, and shared the name Jim. We both went to a Christian school the same year, 1945. We came to Christ early in life and went on to serve the Lord. He gave his life in death; I was trusted to continue my life. We will share a place in glory. God be praised.

Cheers,

Jim
