Oh my.
You are a calvinist, arent you?
So what you are basically saying is that, for a person to be saved, they are to go to God with their situation, and place their faith in Christ....
Only after they they already know that...they are already saved???
Thats completly nonsensical, agedman.
We do not chose to place our faith in Christ after we are saved, we place our faith in Christ in order to be saved.
God does not save people by *stealth*, or by *divine magic*.
He recieves penitant sinners, just as they are, at the moment they sincerly choose to place thier faith in Christ.
There is no other way to be saved.
I hope that helps.

As is so often the case, its a matter of the heart.
If someone says the right words because someone told them that if they say it they will be saved, it will probably be fruitless, and they are still lost.
If they say the prayer sincerely, and the prayer reflects the desire of thier heart..they will be saved.
And you responded with...
My view is that the prayer reflects what has already taken place in the heart - they are saved already and responding.
Example - thief didn't ask to be saved, but asked to be remembered in paradise. In my opinion, he stated the words because he already had the eternal hope of paradise, while admitting to the other thief completely deserving Hades.
