For those who have not noticed, the story about the defenders of Snake Island who died turned out to be another lie: They are currently held prisoner on the Crimean Peninsula.

Zelensky even gave a eulogy:

"On our island Zmiiny (Snake Island), defending it to the last, all the border guards died heroically. But did not give up. All of them will be posthumously be awarded the title of ‘Hero of Ukraine.’ Eternal memory to those who gave their lives for Ukraine.”

Far from being pleased with being prematurely eulogized several of the soldiers had choice words for Zelensky.

Some news outlets like BBC ("News you can trust") have still not updated their stories with the latest updates. The original story has better legs.

There were 84 Ukrainian soldiers on Snake Island. Two of them resisted and were killed. Zelensky was reported about 13 dead soldiers who were allegedly present on the island. Now 82 Ukrainian soldiers from Snake Island are in captivity.

The regiment is a national guard unit, whose leaders had these views and have resigned and supposedly “depolarized” the unit.

As it is, this is an attempted “guilt by (loose) association.” To claim Zelenski is a Nazi based on this unit is simply untrue

Again, I’m certain I’m ill informed about this group. I will repeat what I just stated. The Aziv group is a fringe right wing group in Ukraine.

Based on very brief online research, it appears this regiment you mentioned had leadership that held those views. That leadership has resigned, and the regiment has been depoliticized.

I found this info in a matter of minutes, and I am far from adept at online searches. If I could find it, so could you.

Your attempt to accuse Zelenski of being a Nazi, based the prior leadership of this regiment has no merit and is simply Russian propaganda.

No. This law was passed in 2015. But it doesn't work. During the 3 years of his rule, Zelensky closed all opposition media. Laws and the Constitution are not working in Ukraine.
