I really don't know why so many people fuss about this. Any normal human being would want the best health for themselves and their families. If the vaccine works 50%, that is half good than zero.
The reason many here fuss is misinformation and conspiracies.

In our country there is a distrust of the government. With the election the vacvine became political.

It was the "Trump vaccines" and Democrats refused the vaccine. After the election it was Biden over vaccine logistics and Republicans started rejecting the vaccine.

People started taking to the internet looking for support of the position their politics dictated.

The anti-covid-vaxers are like flat-earthers. They deny science, but find scientists and evidences that support their position.

It is akin to interpreting Scrioture through your theology vs allowing Scrioture to dictate your theology. The reason their experts are their experts is they agree with anti-covid-vax ideas.

It has nothing to do with health. Nothing to do with truth. Everything to do with politics.

A member here who is anti-covid-vax even told me that he planned on getting the vaccine until Biden became president and said we needed to get immunized.

I was for about a year not for taking the vaccine, but when I saw in the press, that cases here in the UK were rising quite a lot, I took my first jab at the beginning of July. the Pfizer one. Still unsure of the second, as I will quite ill after the first one for 3 weeks. I do wish I could simply trust in the Lord, as some of my friends do.

1.getting the jab doesn’t keep you from getting covid
2.getting the jab doesn’t keep you from spreading covid
3. Getting the jab doesn’t keep you from having to wear a mask
4. Getting the jab doesn’t keep you from having to social distance

So who is it hurting if I don’t get the jab?

However, at least here in the UK, people being admitted to hospital, and getting serious Covid, and dying from Covid, has fallen a great deal, after millions have had the vaccine. I know it cannot be perfect, but I am sure that it helps.

the FACT that less people are dying after the get Covid, when before the vaccine, many hundreds were dying, ast least here in the UK, shows that the vaccine does work! You are spreading a false agenda!
No, all that proves is that they are more effectively treating Covid now. Before vax, it was sit back and watch patient die with no treatment. Put on vent and wait for them to die.

Maybe that is because they are receiving monocolonial antibodies before becoming seriously ill. Your number is meaningless. You can't take an effect and assume a cause. You must prove the relationship. Maybe the decrease in is due to post infection antibodies. You can't simply assume the vax is to credit.

my point is, that the vax is working, not as some falsely claim the opposite

So what about people like myself who are not anti-vax but are cautious about new vaccines that are unproven long-term?

You are right. The vaccine has been proven effective time and time again.

But try this -

Go to a flat-earther and show him that the earth is spherical.

Their answer will always be the evidence you have does not prove the earth is not flat.

If somebody rejects science then how can you show scientifically they are wrong? You can't.

The anti-covid-vaxers reject science. This is why I say it's time to just move on, move forward, and leave them where they are. Just prevent them as best we can from being a plague on society.

The Pfizer vax has to be long term safe. It is FDA approved. We all know that no FDA approved medicine has ever been pulled because they later discovered long term side effects.;)
