Based on what I saw at the top o the website, the author is a Reformed Baptist and is trying to be funny. He specifically calls the list "tongue-in-cheek" so I don't believe it's meant to be taken seriously.
Yes, but the "tongue-in-cheek" comments were the truth about what the church is like. So according to him, Reformed Baptist Churches don't have small groups, children's programs, Sunday school, contemporary music or anything like that. I disagree.
Most Reformed Baptist Churches have sunday school, youth groups,etc....they do pass on some of the newer contemporary things for the most part.
you will not see gospel clowns, puppets, the weightlifting power team, etc.
Some of them are divided over the Family Intergrated idea.....they are free to do what they believe.
Yep - but I just wanted to point out that this one pastor's opinion doesn't represent ALL Reformed Baptist churches.
I wonder if they would do video....
you will not see gospel clowns, puppets, the weightlifting power team, etc.
:laugh: There is some freedom...but things like that would be more in a second service , or a fellowship time...with a discussion following.
Sometimes there are book studies, with more of a question and answer format....Preaching is still God's ordained means....The Spirit using the word preached....
Yeah - the way it SHOULD be.
Good post....I believe both can be done...with prayer and guidelines...
In other words..fellowship time should be interactive centered around the word of God...building each other up in the faith. This is how I believe the proper observance of the Lord's Day should be.....positive, interactive, meeting needs, with a bible centered approach.
Not a gloomy, legalistic, rigid, devoid of the Spirit thing.....But rather a delight!
I agree!! I love it when church is a pleasure - when we WANT to be with our brothers and sisters. Even with everything going on, I still love to go to church. What a privilege we have!
