President Trump: If you don't stand for the national anthem you should be fired.

Gee, that's not authoritarian at all. No siree.

Maybe throw them in a gulag. That'll teach 'em.

Obviously, I don't think we should be squelching people's right to free speech by law. But if I had a player/employee who disrespected the flag and my battle buddies by kneeling/sitting during the national anthem, I'd fire them in a heart beat.

The problem I see is that the people who show this disrespect aren't sending the message they intend (unless of course that message IS disrespect). They say that they are sending a message concerning the systemic racism in our country. Even if that were true, what they are actually doing is disrespecting the men and women who have fought so that they could have the freedom to disrespect them.

It's idiotic and misguided at best. And that's giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Would he have the courage to say that to their face. Nope. Does anyone really believe he is a Christian? Only those that are lying to themselves.
Of course he would say it to their face - with the secret service men all around him he no doubt would.

I have heard immature Christians use vulgar language and I have counseled other Christians of sins that I wish would have only been vulgar language and I am not lying to myself or anyone else.

I'm not saying President Trump is or isn't a Christian, he has indicated that he is.

Example, after 3 years of being with jesus
Mark14
70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter,
Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.
71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.

Larry Elder is a syndicated talk show host (happens to be black). He says this is not true, you're actually more likely to be killed if you're white. I'll try to find some info on this. I've only heard it on the radio.

It doesn't matter what your skin color, if you resist arrest or assault a police officer, the chances of you being killed goes up exponentially.

Poverty is the main reason for crime. There are more white criminals than black. You ain't gonna like it, but that's a fact.
Second, the black church is more Godly than the white church. They have had to fight against racist white Christians for 300 years.
The injustice is not the rule of law. The injustice is that white police officers will assume white men are innocent while assuming black men are guilty. That is not equitable.
If a black man drives down the road in a mercedes, people assume he's a drug dealer. The cops follow him. If a white man drives down the road in a mercedes, people assume he earned it. The cops ignore him.
Guess what. That is racism!

What makes you say that poverty is the main reason for crime? That sounds like something that was thought 100 years ago. Adam had a perfect environment and still he took what was not his to take. Judas saw God in the flesh daily and still he sold Him out for money. Maybe love of money is a reason for crime?

More on this.

Former Army Ranger is Only Steelers Player to Stand For National Anthem – His Entire Team Hid in the Locker Room (VIDEO)

Just think about this. The entire team hid in the locker room, expect this one player who went against his team. Mind blowing. That's okay though. He made a much stronger statement of bravery, alone.

Also,

BURN AND BOYCOTT! Patriotic NFL Fan Torches All His Steelers Gear, Boycotts League: “We Stand for This Country!” (Video)

Also, actor James Woods deserves some kudos. Had no idea he was so politically incorrect.

That is correct. Let's not forget that #TimTebow was chastised for "taking a knee" for different reasons. https://twitter.com/liz_wheeler/status/911975279970598912 …

What I want to know is what are they doing positive manner to end so - called racism.?

With many multi-millionaires among them - there is a lot they could do ......

Salty and everyone else, we are surrounded by prima donnas. Blacks have been raising the fist since the Olympics in Mexico--wasn't that about 1968? (Democrats are like vegans--they have to tell you what they are in the first 10 minutes of meeting you.)

Look, the upper-middle class whites and the very rich whites who inhabit the Colts Stadium, Lucas Oil, in downtown Indianapolis are probably no more patriotic than the players, who seem to be in it just for the money and the politics. However, it is the taxpayers of Indianapolis, who thought nearly a billion dollars of their money on credit for a stadium would be a good idea. So if the NFL now means something like No Fans Left, we will see if the owners will go ahead and spend their own money to keep the wages high for the players and we can laugh at the people of Indianapolis who will now have no chance, if they ever did have one, of getting their money back on the white elephant called Lucas Oil Stadium.

(And by the way the NBA Pacers probably will never earn enough to pay off the city-held mortgage on their Fieldhouse. And the Pacers would really be in trouble if they couldn't sell alcohol at their games.)

I would only want to go to a game to have fun--not so much fun anymore, huh?

The most dangerous place in America for black children is Chicago, from the vicious black gangs that live there. To my knowledge, there's not been a single protest by any black athletes, nor a proposal to help or do anything. If you're a black child in Chicago, no one really cares, save religious leaders, Trump and some white conservatives.

NFL crowds
By Mike Huckabee

I’m sure there are all sorts of reasons the NFL can give you for its current TV ratings and attendance downturns. Of course, none of them will include that football fans tend to be among the most patriotic Americans, the kind who don’t approve of wealthy athletes taking a knee during the National Anthem to show their contempt for America and the flag. No, that has nothing to do with the falling fan interest.

But just in case they ever get curious about why some NFL stadiums are starting to resemble the sparse crowds at a late-career Spinal Tap concert, a new Rasmussen survey found that 34% of Americans say they are less likely to watch an NFL game because of the protests on the field. Frankly, that’s fewer than I suspected. Then again, do we know how many Americans follow the NFL? If it’s around 34%, then I bet it’s the exact same group of Americans.

So would I.

But the President of the United States should not be admonishing private businesses to fire people.

Agree with you all the way.

The President of the United States called an entire group of people SOB's. Is that presidential? Is that uniting or divisive?

Do you think the NFL players and owners should just roll over when they are called SOB's and agree with Trump? What was Trump expecting would happen?

I agree with what Trump said, but he could have said it more diplomatically or even had someone else say it for him. Who's the secretary of Labor?

Evidence please. I heard him call anthem kneelers SOBs, and no one else.

Yep, kneelers during the anthem--that's an entire group of people.

Do you want a self-professed Christian leader of the greatest nation on earth to call people SOB's?

I personally would use the term ingrate. And I do believe Trump is behaving more righteously than many Christians who oppose him.

What you about you, a self proclaimed conservative, defending these ingrates?
