TRUMP: I'm a 'smart person,' don't need intelligence briefings every single day

Just an FYI,

Do you know President Clinton did not meet with the Intelligence community for "Daily Briefings"? He received the daily briefings in printed form and often had staff read over them and highlight anything they thought was important.

OK, here are reasons to at least skim over/glance at duplicate items on the daily briefing list every day.

1) Memory: If you don't see these duplicate items every day some will slip through the cracks of your memory.

2) Other items: Other seemingly unrelated items can effect and impact an existing item which duplicates every day. That's just how life is.

3) Responsibility: To relegate the responsibility of the determination of the importance of these duplicate items shifts the responsibility of #1 and #2 from the relegator to the relagatee who may fail at # 1 (forgets to check, etc) and #2 (doesn't realize the impact of other new items). The relegating individual (IMO) is shirking his responsibility.

Then we have Obama's legacy : oops, just found out about that on the news.

Yes, I voted for Trump but I am personally watching him very closely.

Although I don't agree with BW's thought that he is purposely doing this to "set himself up" to have an excuse for missing something (although it could be true), I don't like Trumps policy of not reading every line item including at least a skim of duplicates for the reasons above. The duplicates could be reported on a separate sheet to facilitate the skim.

Just being honest.

Hopefully he will change his mind.
FWIW, I am pleased that he just comes right out and tells us things like this.

Very good post Hank. I'm glad to see that some of his voters are trying to hold his feet to the fire. No president should be given a free pass from his supporters. I was disgusted by the Dems turning a blind eye to Obama's failings and I am just as disgusted so far at Trump supporters turning a blind eye to potential problems with Trump. I have seen way to much 1984 stuff with Trump online that it is refreshing to see some accountability for the president elect from one of his voters.

There is no reason for him to change his mind.

Well he has changed his mind on abortion, gun control, the Iraq War, tax rates, Obama's birthplace, his relationship with Putin, the minimum wage, deporting of illegal immigrants, climate change, the extent of his Muslim ban, use of nukes for first strike, waterboarding.....SO, just maybe he might possibly change his mind on this?

Yep, as he himself said, "smarter than the generals".

Smart as a Slick Operating NYC Criminal you mean! You know this shysters history right? Grand-pappy ran brothels & liquor houses, Daddio was in the construction trades in Queens (you know what that's about I hope--you didn't just fall off a turnip truck), and the Donald is notorious for using other peoples money to finance his endeavors (if you could call multiple bankrupt filings a Smart Business Practice!) No wonder he is affiliated with the notorious Kushner family {Goniff's one and all} Check out the back story on google just why Jarrods old man went to prison & who put him there.....Its funny.

So now he has a self designed family crest to complete his monumental ego. LOL!

As well as duplicate information.

BTW, there is no way you could know how many bits of information comes through the pipe unless you have the proper clearances and the need to know.

HankD

True Hank. But when thousands upon thousands of cell phone calls are monitored it has to come to millions upon millions of bits of information. That is NSA, of course.

I have no idea how much new information comes into the CIA, but it must be quite a lot on a daily basis.

No one can tell me there is not new information daily that needs to be told the the president. Trump's attention deficit disorder is going to spell big trouble for our country. Turst me.

I also remember, "read my lips, no new taxes"...... my reply, "Dont run again, you broke your promise to the US citizenry. Then there was, "I did not have sex with that woman" and Chris Christy @ the American Legion Hall in my town (a parking lot that I grew up next to).....in short I asked him if he had any higher political aspirations that would keep him from completing his work as the NJ Governor & his response was, "absolutely not, my goal is to be the best governor New Jersey ever had....and all I want is a portrait done of me hanging in the State House" ....LOL, what a fat lair, but my point is, people remember those things.

Read my lips.....NYC Scum, not Boston scum. LOL. You can argue that scum is scum, but then perhaps you probably have no appreciation for the deceptiveness of the NY Criminal (your money or your life society) They live to find ways to grow their fortunes off your backs.

Yes we have a very poor record of righteous presidents. As soon as we think we have (or had) one, a closet full of smut falls out or he does or says something that makes us hang our heads.

I was a JFK Democrat even after the revelation of his private life.
I was however devastated. His father was one thing but his personal failures were difficult for me to handle.

I think Jimmy Carter had a clean record except for the failed hostage rescue.
He alluded to being a born-gain believer. Gerald Ford seemed free of garbage as well.

Give credit where credit is due:
Obama is a good family man he has guarded his daughters from the onslaught of the press with no hint of womanizing scandals in his past or during his presidency. In that respect he seemed blameless. Ya, he had some associations which were questionable but he is a good family man.

Now why should we fool ourselves into believing our Presidents should be High Priest? God raises up the leaders of nations. God gave us Obama and now God has given us Trump. Let's see what God wants to do through Donald Trump for the people of this country and the people of the world. Let's stop complaining about the sinners, sinners is all God has to choose from. Even the sinner king David was said to be a man after God's own heart.

You are correct, now if the RNC and the DNC only believed that about each other...

So, who believes this?
I believe this is metaphor.

During the campaign Trump was riddled daily for not being a moral man with all kinds of allegations piled on his head.

The expectation seemed that the liberal progressives, leftists, NEVERTRUMPers, etc... wanted a saint rather than a sinner.

It is an inappropriate "metaphor" as it is unnecessary hyperbole. Further, it shows the lack of concern for our political candidates moral values. It seems to separate morality from the office. It is sad and an incriminating commentary on the state of our country and to include many people who call themselves Christians.
