yeah, well, nobody ever said Trump couldn't be petty - he was mad at DeSantis when Rick endorsed and campaigned for that neverTrumper in Colorado. I still think the guy will probably lose to Bennett but I hope not.

Don't think it will do any damage, .and in Trump's defense, this ad rubbed me the wrong way as well:

sanctimonious indeed
Well, it’s a little over the top. I don’t like candidates claiming God personally chose them for some political position.

But I don’t see Trump’s comments defending God. If I remember correctly, Trump claimed God chose him to be president.

Could we see two repubs in the primaries claiming God chose them to be president?

Of course, Mike Pence is the only candidate chosen by God to serve, now that Ben Sasse resigned to lead a secular university.

peace to you

….
Sheesh, guess I was hoping those two would team up, be allies, maybe even Desantis be Trump's VP candidate…...
Well, never say never. This was relatively minor compared to some of the things Trump has said of other repubs.

Trump accused (more or less) Ted Cruz’s father of being involved in JFK’s assignation and said his wife was ugly (compared to Melania) and Cruz eventually supported him.

If ever a repub had cause to be a never Trumper it would as Cruz, but he put his party, and country, first, ahead of personal feelings.

peace to you

It would most likely end up in a DNC win by splitting the GOP.

Nope. The primaries and the Republican Convention will select one candidate to face off against the democrat candidate. There won’t be two candidates running against the democrat.

I doubt she'd get 3% of the vote.

In 1968 if Wallace had not run - HHH could have been President

There are more running than the DNC and GOP.

The issue is we already know that a substantial portion of Republicans will not vote for Trump.

But would DeSantis be concerned about being "Penced"
Interesting observation. Pence was loyal to Trump and did a good job as VP. Trump called him a coward (and a traitor?) for following the constitution on Jan 6.

It was his worst moment as Pres.

I’ll vote for whoever the republicans nominates, but I hope Trump doesn’t run, especially after attacking DeSantis just before Election Day.

peace to you

Not sure I agree. Many R's might prefer a different candidate - but if Trump is the R nominee - then he just might have a chance of pulling off GROVER !

President Trump needs to go to jail—to visit incarcerated democrats and explain to them that America has a Constitution that must be obeyed.
He can bunk with them and remind himself of the same thing.
