No way a Republican or person even with good sense could vote for dems.

Not a Republican, an "unaffiliated" here in NC. If I had to pick a party it'd be the American Solidarity Party, but I occasionally vote for Dems.

I did wind up doing straight ticket Republican this election though. Originally I was going to vote for a couple Dems, especially for state rep in my state house, but when I saw how close Republicans were to reclaiming a supermajority here in NC I opted for the Republican candidate in the interest of banning abortion.

I know multiple of the Dem candidates and Republican candidates by meeting them in-person multiple times and emailing with them. 80% of the State and Local Dems are as nutty as the Federal level dems, but there's 20% left that are good Blue Dog Democrats and JFK Dems.

In regards to the OP:
Trump will probably announce on Nov 15th I imagine. I would rather he didn't and would let DeSantis run, but you've gotta make a meal out of the ingredients you're given. I think Trump's VP choice should be DeSantis or Tulsi Gabbard.

You are NOT answering the question I asked;

Lets try this one less time:

Would you say that the SCOTUS leak was an insurrection?
Would you say the attack on the SCOTUS an insurrection?
A leak? Not an insurrection. A disloyalty, but not an insurrection. The news would have come out anyway.

What physical attack came upon any member of the SCOTUS? If there was one, then the attackers are insurrectionists.

What is obvious is that Donald Trump attempted to instigate an insurrection and he is guilty. He should be in jail.

You seem to be a democrat.

The point is America MUST get a strong Republican president, doesn’t matter if it’s Trump, DeSantis, Cruz, or an unknown.

We’ve GOT to get democrats out of power! They are killing America and we don’t need democrats causing more dissension. We need to unify the GOP, not fragment it.
I don’t give a (snip) (hoot) for either political party and for your edification, I’m a conservative independent. If truth be told I believe that DeSantis is the best candidate for the presidency should he choose to run. Are you clear on my position now?

Yeah, sure that’s why all the pro-Trump candidates are winning ALL THE TIME.

Try living in reality occasionally.

peace to you
I view Trump as a flawed candidate who needs to step aside and allow for a more qualified candidate like DeSantis to run the party. Obviously Donny is intimidated by the governor of Florida… for obvious reasons.

I wish you all would quit LOCKING threads, especially ones that are FEATURED.

I seem to find threads late in the game and I can't make a comment. If you're going to lock them, close them, why not move them to a new forum entitled, "CLOSED THREADS" (or LOCKED THREADS) so I won't waste time reading something I'm not allowed to speak to? It's rather frustrating.

No, not very clear. You still advocate what a democrat would advocate (regarding Trump). I consider myself a Conservative Independent also, but we sure must define the term differently. You seem to me to be putting down conservatism and that would mean embracing leftistism. If I am in error, prove it by making posts that support conservatism.

Donald Trump did not instigate an insurrection, nor did one take place. There were 700 plus riots across America by antifa and blm. Those were insurrections but the left called them "peaceful protests".

President Trump called for a peaceful protest, and guess what? Government and businesses were NOT burned, NOT looted, NOT destroyed, NOT graffitied, and NO police were killed; in fact, policed killed one of the peaceful protesters.

….

Schumer threatened SCOTUS saying they would “unleash the whirlwind… pay the price… not know what hit them” That is clearly a call for violence against SCOTUS

And then a man came to Kavenaugh’s house with a gun and the stated intention of assassinating him.

By your definition, the lead Dem in the Senate, Schumer, is guilty of an attempted insurrection and should be arrested and jailed.

I’ll wait patiently while you devote as much vitriol toward Schumer and what he said as you do for Trump who told his supporters on Jan 6 to “peacefully and patriotically let your voices be heard”.

I won’t hold my breath though.

peace to you

Please, the country will need to vomit out that old miscreant rather selecting him for any leadership roll. BTW, he comes from NY and has properties in New Jersey yet he did nothing to improve our lives …but plant his ex-wife on the first hole of his golf course in Far Hills NJ. It makes for a real conversation piece when teeing off to the 1st hole.

How many cops were attacked, injured, killed by the mob on January 6th?

If I were the police commander guarding the Nations Capital there would be riot cops armed with pump shotguns loaded with armor piercing slugs and given permission to fire at will. Forget the nonsense about spilling innocent blood, rather form a parameter and warn them that if they cross the line they will forfeit their miserable lives. Put the fear of God in them and act accordingly.

Wow, you are at worst obtuse and at best clueless. Your definition of a conservative is being at war with democrats. That’s not a conservative independent in my book. What that is actually is an angry republican masquerading as a conservative & an independent. You need to deal with your emotional side and come to terms with your denial.

Several were attacked Jan 6. None were killed, though one died several days later from a heart attack.

Hiw many cops were attacked and killed the two years prior during non stop riots across the country.? How many businesses, churches burned? How many billions in damages?

Your selective self righteous outrage is sickening.

peace to you

Wow!!! Just shoot them all and let God figure it out, huh? What a wonderful Christian attitude! (I’m being sarcastic,)

Perhaps if Polosi or the Dem mayor had accepted Trump’s offer of National Guard troops for security, the capitol wouldn’t have been breached.

peace to you

Yes, in order to keep the peace I would kill. Do you own a gun? What is it used for? I would suggest that most would say for protection…maybe to stop a criminal. Same situation here… ie protection, keeping the peace, stoping criminals wanting to storm the Nations Capital…add to that intimidation. BANG, order preserved. And the stupid who challenged the warning pays the price by forfeiting his or her life. I don’t mind if the perp is female…dumb becomes lethal .
