What does he mean "unless they are hypocrites"?

Because at least 37 Dems have already voted for her in the past, admitting she was perfectly qualified. Now they have to explain why they've suddenly changed their mind, and face political backlash for doing so.

It's going to be either Amy or Babs, and either is a big improvement over RBG. The Democrats are even thinking of another fake impeachment, do it, do it, do it.

Btw, where are all the resident nevertrumpers/progressives on this here?

check out his twitter feed, he is in a tough re-election race of his own, but he'll prevail. Not so sure about Susan, though - if she holds firm on not confirming Amy or Babs, she will lose her Senate seat for sure - Murk is expendable and Mitch knows he has the votes anyways.

I agree. Personally, I would love to see an actual wise Latina on the court.

The choice would make ultimate sense:

Yeah, Barbara Lagoa does seem to make good sense, although the 85-15 approval with so many on the Left going that way concerns me to question about the reasons why they would be so accepting and whether if it were more than just her ethnicity.

I'm leaning Barbara Lagoa, actually, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Trump's Supreme Court court pick likely to be Amy Coney Barrett or Barbara Lagoa: reports

Cuban heritage, and understands the evils of communism.

Could be the strong Roman Catholic Judge, who already has had hot sparring with Senators before, and Pelosi and Schumer also!

Yeah, my concern also. I believe it more likely the latter.

Think about it:

this same Senate voted her in 80-15! She should sail through - unless all those Dems who voted for her in December are hypocrites........."

Now they're (Dems) gonna give her a 'Kavanaugh/Thomas/Bork smear job'? Hard sell.

[add]

I wouldn't be surprised if there is no Judiciary Committee hearing (not required) let alone televised (not required) during this confirmation process due to the circus we endured with the Kavanaugh debacle. IMO, who ever Trump picks WILL be confirmed, before Nov 3. I think the Senate Republicans now have the spine to do this. Trump has set the example TO FIGHT for them to follow. And McConnell is one shrewd dude.

That was actually a bit of intended humor that didn't come off well -- which essentially meant, "Of course, they are hypocrites."

I wrote a little poem:

Come Saturday Trump will make his selection.

That's politics, there are consequences to losing an election.

While moving to fill the SCOTUS seat we will drink their Liberal tears.

And after that, we'll be looking forward to …4 more years!

I hear some people murmuring about Allison Jones Rushing, and concerned ACB is supporting the shutdown efforts a little too much.

I'm seeing more concern now over Barrett, now. "Roberts clone" is being thrown around. Rushing is liked, but they believe too young. Lagoa is emerging as the favorite, and least in some circles. I believe Trump is meeting with her soon.

Agree. ACB is not my favorite for several reasons.
