You make no sense at all James. You say you are elected into Salvation so you are saved once and then you get faith in Christ and get saved again. I won't make any futher comment but sure am thinking plenty.


So you get saved twice and pre-chosen came from the Calvinist. I never knew the word until I came on BB so if you want to blame someone blame your friends.

James - You are wasting your time. You and I are in agreement as to what the word predestinate means. It is what has been predestinated that you seem to have a different opinion of. I believe we who are saved were predestined to be conformed to the image of God's Son.

God is timeless when He steps out of His creation. Working with Man (creation) He does use Time, for this is how man relates...thus..the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

James - I realize this was not addressed to me. However, I can't help but respond. Just because you think you won the debate before, doesn't mean you did. Brother Bob, Webdog, and myself, to name a few, have not changed our minds based on your arguments. Half the time you threaten, "stick around, big answers are on the way", then we wait and wait, and what you finally post is nothing but a bunch of off-point rambling that has little to do with anything. I want you to know, my mind is open, if you really have any compelling arguments, from Scripture, I can be convinced. So far the only compelling arguments I have heard have been from Npetreley. So ramble on if you wish, but, if you want to debunk anything Brother Bob has said, you will have to try much harder.

comes from 2 words...

pro which is a a primary preposition...always meaning before

and

orizo which means... define, to mark out the boundaries or limits ... to determine, appoint

You should be man enough to take your part in shutting down a thread but why does it not surprise me that you are not. Best I remember there were several called down and several posts edited. I got hot under the collar and will stand up and tell anyone who want to know, including all the moderators, you and anyone else who might be interested. You have no idea how many times you misspell. I have never brought it to your attention for it is not considered to be very nice but I see that has no bounds on you. So go to it James and if you don't want to post to me then don't. I have told you before I tell you again. You lost the argument is why you don't want to debate me. Not the same as the word Prognosis…. Foreknowledge forethought, pre-arrangement

Used in the following verses.
Each time they seem to agree with the greek writers.

Rom 8:29

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Rom 11:2

God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

1Pe 1:20

Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Now one meaning can be a simple knowing before hand. And if you think this is the meaning we will work with it. Take your pick.

But most read in context that this indeed is election. Do you agree with the greek that this means election? Also...if so...who is the subject of the election? And...when did this election take place?

You can stop right here and see that those He foreknew (knew intimately in advance) He predestined to be brethren to Christ, which means He predestined them to be saved. But the rest of the passage nails it beyond dispute.


Those He predestined, He called, justified, and glorified. As opposed to whom? Those He did not predestine.

I don't know how you can make it any more clear than that.
