The unfortunate part is that we, in either country, are caught up in the petty machinations of our elected leaders like it or not.
A tariff is just a tax on your own people.

Correction….Trump launched this tariff crap. Anything we as citizens of The USA pay for from countries with tariffs is paid for by us…. So do you think most of us are in favor of paying more? Nobody with any brains here wants this…well maybe the MAGA hats (Trumps supporting idiots).
Quit buying imports. Why would anybody pay more for a product if offered here for cheaper? Don't say quality because the majority of knock-off products come from China. And China is a cheap place to manufacturer products, however, China refused to allow manufacturing unless a company also moved it R&D there. Guess what happened when China acquired R&D and has the manufacturing to produce the products?
And not all citizens are patriotic or worthy of consideration.

Just read "the art of the deal". Trump seems to think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
What you do see is that he will do whatever he thinks is necessary to get what he wants.
In this case if he can't get the minerals from Z he will get them from P.

Or mine here for precious earth minerals and establish trade. Russia was the number one source of Titanium and the only way the U.S. could obtain Ti. was to create shell companies. Titanium is a precious metal used for example in many aircrafts especially military.

If I had it my way, sterilize all ineligible persons exempting themselves from the draft and begin a mandatory draft serving for at least 3 yrs (ex. S. Korea, and Israel) since human services are so important. Can't have the real men go off and fight wars and undesirable peoples remain home and populate the peoples. And that's being nice. LGBT and other deplorable peoples shouldn't be a problem if certain undesirables were put to death or executed. Make it so they fear coming out of the closet and let no blood guilt be upon anybody's head.
Whenever man comes up w/ a better idea on how to solve immorality greater regression occurs resulting in animalistic behavior. "Your people," your people are nothing but a bunch of animals.

Not all consumers are equal, some consumers much rather buy from the Black Market and avoid the Tariffs.
The same peoples which ignore the current state of affairs pertaining to the U.S. now and recession we're trying to come out of. What is your solution? To increase taxation, just to break even by paying billions of dollars in interest on over 30 trillion dollars of national debt. Elon already found 500 billion dollars in fraud. That's more than he was worth but already proving himself priceless in the context of his new office.

The US needs the rest of the nations as without them the USA would just crumble and fade away. That is why we have world trade but Trump seems intent on destroying that trade.
If you spend anytime looking at the world outside of your MAGA bubble you would know that.
DOGE may seem like a good idea right now but we will see what it looks like in a few months. Is the Gov bloated, yes without a doubt. But as you have seen, mistakes have been made and the wrong people were fired.

Just read the local news and the babyboomers are there protesting w/ gray hair against the funding cuts to their leftist organizations. Including the federal mandate to eliminate anything other than two genders or lose Federal funding. That's the same policy which forced the public education to demoralize the system. Somebody commented if it weren't for the babyboomers there might still be a draft. Something else to blame boomers for!
You might think I am in the Maga camp, but I am not. The modern right is not right enough and by comparison I could be labeled an extremist. For example, physicians which perform sex change operations will have to face the law now for child mutilation, and what murder and conspiracy to commit murder for abortion advocates and those performing them? Every time the right negotiates or compromises it's one step left. I haven't moved on most my positions, but I can't align w/ the party by how far left it has become. I'll leave you to love the world whatever that means, humanity? And what is humanity, human? Even a primate walks on two feet and probably has more upright vertebrae than the immoral advocates of the left. You obviously care about the World and the public perception of the World and the appeal of America to the World. And that's why this nation is at the brink of collapse economic or otherwise. It is appalling to entertain let alone care about what any Socialist desires. So many bright ideas need government funding, ideas from the people, mind as well stamp bank seals on every birth certificate at birth and use the birth certificates as a promissory note. Every citizen will avg this or that amount in their lifetime towards taxes, then the government can borrow on that promissory note. The people are already extended by generations and can't payback the national debt in a single generation.
I love it, I love the fact that the left has to bear the blame and burden of destroying this nation in history. All those great humane policies and funding for the beast that walk on two legs. $500,000,000.00 in fraud identified and this is only the 3rd month of Trump's administration! The left wanted to bankrupt the nation and that's how patriotic and loving the left is of America. Leftists have no interest in becoming American they want to redefine America.

That's the point, whether a good idea or not the DOGE has already reduced financial abuse by 500 billion dollars. That's a lot of progress! Now if they go after criminal activity for the fraud or whether allow for the rich and powerful to claim legality under the Biden Administration is something to observe. People like that are criminal and will take advantage of any situation for financial gain. Their standard of morality is the government policy unless it suits them not.
The World by definition is the ideological system opposed to morality and the standard bearer, the Giver of Law, G-d. Thank you for clarification, I do believe the earth is our responsibility as to maintain it and not necessarily police it, but the Noahide covenant conveys law and order to establish rule and slow depravity, and why G-d ordained government. Unfortunately, man is not only corrupt but has the ability to corrupt everything resulting in tyranny.
Correct…we gave up those positions a long time ago when we provided the task of making stuff to other countries. Take the chip market, that takes synergy from multiple countries at greatly reduced economies…bottom line, that isn’t coming back. How about smart phones. We willingly gave that stuff up decades ago.

That's pretty scary, considering all the chips in a simple cellphone. I heard, recently, Israel had a field day w/ cellphones and pagers. In their defense, the manuals for the phones probably had warnings about storing the phone to close to anybody's head. Seriously, could ya imagine if every Smart TV and cellphone had a chip which could be activated to DDOS the entire American communications networks?
If I remember correctly, Zenith was the first and last American TV company. Motorola was the first company and the patent hold to DSM or Discreet Surface Mounting for every electrical component on a circuit board. Amazing what we've given up. From what I understand about every memory chip is made in S. Korea now by Samsung.

That's an exception (not)! In all seriousness, we had to carry another G.I. across the line during basic because his leg had bone splints so bad his leg had to be in a cast for months after final qualifying. We made it as a single Flight, and all passed the timed run together carrying him across the finish line.
We've both heard of soldiers shooting themselves in the foot to avoid conflict. And we've been alive long enough to observe draft dodgers and even welcoming them back. As well, the financial educational exceptions for the draft exemptions.
