That's an exception (not)! In all seriousness, we had to carry another G.I. across the line during basic because his leg had bone splints so bad his leg had to be in a cast for months after final qualifying. We made it as a single Flight, and all passed the timed run together carrying him across the finish line.

We've both heard of soldiers shooting themselves in the foot to avoid conflict. And we've been alive long enough to observe draft dodgers and even welcoming them back. As well, the financial educational exceptions for the draft exemptions.
I know the Doctor that he went to on 42nd street in Manhattan…that’s what he did, get people out of the draft using bogus diagnosis. I know allot about that guy having worked in the same trades in the City. It takes a manipulator to operate in that place. Why he ever got married is beyond me…the 70’s & 80’s where wild with women from everywhere, cocaine for the taking (why do you think The Donald talks nasally), quasudes/250624 tabs and allot more, gay sex parties ….any wonder many contracted AIDS and most died and so all Donny required was for people to bow down before him….all except the Mafia cause he needed them for construction projects. All the sub contractors though he treated like dirt, cheated them, didn’t pay them cause they were inconsequential. Besides he had his fixer on the payroll, or should I say daddy’s payroll, one Roy Coen a really sleazy lawyer he met at Studio 54. And that’s why I’m not surprised to see how this guy operates,he is a NY boy and this is what the City produces. Nobody from NYC is surprised by Trump.

So Trump really is the lackey of Putin.

With friends like the USA who needs enemies.

Why would anyone trust the US now?
You shouldn’t, not with Trump and his lackies attempting to steer the ship. But take solis, we are a nation with a Constitution and many still consider the Rule Of Law as a guiding principle. Once the USA citizenry wakes up to Trumps utter lack of probity, things will then change.

No doubt it will be for those suffering from TDS.

Personally, I'm optimistic for America.

It's not TDS that is the problem it'd DJT.

The US needs what the rest of the world has and he just does not grasp the fact he is dealing with countries not businesses.

He is an isolationist who thinks the US can survive on it's own. Good luck with that.

Betcha a lot of critics turn white knuckled whenever having to acknowledge he hasn't accepted pay for his office to date.

No, the U.S. is too dependent (like the Medicaid system). Socialist mentality is reminiscent of Nazi Germany, anybody not willing to contribute "FOR" society (World) should be eliminated. Obama wrote in his book "dreams of my father" the government has the right to tax 100% of the people's income and is responsible for providing basic necessities. Either way the government is involved for or against in every aspect of life and the decisions ultimately comes down to benefiting America or the "World."

I believe DJT is exactly what we need now.

And you're right, it's probably going to be a long 4 years for Socialists like you.

There were plenty of people in 1938 saying that all Hitler wanted was security, and if the allies let him have Czechoslovakia, he would be satisfied.
People might be interested to read Winston Churchill's 1938 speech in Parliament after the 'Munich Agreement' had abandoned Czechoslovakia to the Nazis. It ends thus:

October 5, 1938

October 5, 1938. House of Commons

Chamberlain_Munich
Nevelle Chamberlain returns from Munich

I do not grudge our loyal, brave people, who were ready to do their duty no matter what the cost, who never flinched under the strain of last week – I do not grudge them the natural, spontaneous outburst of joy and relief when they learned that the hard ordeal would no longer be required of them at the moment; but they should know the truth. They should know that there has been gross neglect and deficiency in our defences; they should know that we have sustained a defeat without a war, the consequences of which will travel far with us along our road; they should know that we have passed an awful milestone in our history, when the whole equilibrium of Europe has been deranged, and that the terrible words have for the time being been pronounced against the Western democracies:
“Thou art weighed in the balance and found wanting.”
And do not suppose that this is the end. This is only the beginning of the reckoning. This is only the first sip, the first foretaste of a bitter cup which will be proffered to us year by year unless by a supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour, we arise again and take our stand for freedom as in the olden time.

Full text here, if anyone's interested: The Munich Agreement

Trump imagines that by throwing Ukraine and her people to the wolves, he will have peace and a bloodless victory. I predict that he will have defeat in the negotiations an, at some point in the future, a bloody war.

DJT does not seem to understand that those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

He does remind me of Chamberlain. Both willingly would throw another country under the bus.

DJT has proven that the USA is NOT to be considered a trustworthy friend.

Remember, Joe Biden was the president when the war started. There was no hesitation on his part to just give away our tax dollars for nothing in return. Of course Zelenskyy was going to take it. What foreign leader wouldn’t be happy with a deal like that?
There was “something” in return. About $100 billion is unaccounted for. Wouldn’t be surprised to learn it was laundered back into the U.S. to support Dems and their radical causes.

Peace to you

That’s a good point, has there been a full accounting of all that money. Democrat politicians seem to be the richest employees in the world for some reason.

You are correct. The world cannot just keep on repeating the failures of the Ukraine war.
DT has watched hundreds of thousands die in Ukraine, and we are no closer to peace. Something different must be done.

There are only two options at this point. Send allied troops to fight along side the Ukrainians and repel the Russian troops out of Ukraine.

That would cost hundreds of thousands of lives and risk WW3 and nuclear war…

Or…..

Negotiate a peace deal….

DT has decided the second option is preferable to the first.

If you have a better plan, please express it plainly.

If your only plan is to criticize DT, then your opinion isn’t worth very much.

Peace to you

Option one? The US or Europe (won't be both) *could* send ground troops, that's the only way Z can win. I think Putin is saber-rattling over going nuclear, he may use tactical nukes on them/us, it's a gamble but Putin would lose, but at what cost?

Your other option, yes, yes, and yes. Why don't that do something like the Istabul Comminique, or whatever it was called, what would have stopped all of this if the Russians hadn't gone Buscha? Russia has about a fifth or so of the Ukraine and so far won't give an inch of it back, why the Z is rejectiing each and every settlement, Russia always wants to keep some of that land. This is where Trump, NATO, the EU should start with Putin.

Really don't mind DJT's trade talk. that is a barganing chip and it's just a tariff. These people suffering from TDS, well, Biden said he would tolerate "minor excursions" by Russia, and you give a Russian an inch... Sad that in the US, it's Ukraine the left says they're "standing with", and Z went to PA to help the Harris/Walz campaign, another dumb thing Z did. Best bet is for a deal where Russia cedes most of the land back and we provide Ukraine with mucho security going forward. Europe should stop buying Russian gas in the meantime, but Russia escapes punishment for its actions. Nobody will be happy with this but a nuclear WW3 is far worse.
