Looking at recent/current history of U.S. involvement in other countries governments, etc.(without rose-colored glasses):

imperialism

the policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring and holding colonies and dependencies.

America's Role in Nation-Building: From Germany to Iraq

"The post-World War II occupations of Germany and Japan set standards for postconflict nation-building that have not since been matched. Only in recent years has the United States has felt the need to participate in similar transformations, but it is now facing one of the most challenging prospects since the 1940s: Iraq. The authors review seven case studies — Germany, Japan, Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan — and seek lessons about what worked well and what did not. Then, they examine the Iraq situation in light of these lessons. Success in Iraq will require an extensive commitment of financial, military, and political resources for a long time. The United States cannot afford to contemplate early exit strategies and cannot afford to leave the job half completed."

Haiti is hopeless. They murdered all the whites all the people who had white blood in them. You cannot change Islamic societies because they live the way Muhammad did--always ar war. Japan was more successful than Germany. Nation building went out with the Bushes I hope.

After all those years of showing off expensive toys and massive troop deployment, they had to negotiate with Kalashnikov wielding Talibans

'Peace deal is near': What we know so far about US-Taliban talks

Here is the lesson; keep off other countries:p

Yes, those countries that terrorists use as bases to train other terrorists and launch attacks against the United States of America--stay out of there. Try to understand where the terrorist is coming from and why he commits mass murder.

Muslims have been at war to conquer the world for 1400 years. They have murdered 240 million people. Muhammad was a warrior and doublecrossed and massacred 800 Jews with whom he had a peace treaty. The Quran says to slay the infidel.

The globalist cabal that are facilitating the Muslim influxes of their countries will see the rusty blade first hand soon after the completion of their dream of taking over world domination. Be careful what you wish for.

US is in bed with the biggest exporter of terrorism; Saudi Arabia. I thought Trump was smarter but he is dumb like all the rest. Or he is beholden to forces beyond him though I don’t buy garbage conspiracy theories

If Muslims could conquer the world, they would then begin civil wars among themselves, right? They left is allied with them but they left will be disposed of very quickly by Islam.

If you want to yammer about American Imperialism, what do think about the proposal about the US buying Greenland from Denmark? The idea goes back to the Trueman administration.

And this is the bullet point — the dems think they will control the muslims!!!! ‘Course all the elite dems will immediately pledge to become muslims, as they (muslims) start the official elimination of the queers & the dems cheer them on!!!

If this is an ignorant move by Trump, then Harry Truman was just as ignorant. He offered to buy the place back in '47.

Andrew Jackson administration floated the idea before Truman. What makes Trump's idea either a joke or stupid is the island is currently populated with over 55,000 locals, and the idea of bartering people died together with segregation and colonialism. Actually it died earlier.

Acquisition of Greenland hardly counts as imperialism, which is imposition of the will of a Nation on another sovereign one against their will

Greenland is not a sovereign nation, but an autonomous region of Denmark. We buy the territory just like we bought the Virgin Islands from the Danes. As noted above, the PRC is sniffing around seeking to spend development yuan there. It will depend on how hungry the Greenlanders get for development money.
