I just finished A Hill On Which To Die by Judge Paul Pressler. I thought it was pretty insightful.

Currently I am reading Brothers, We Are Not Professionals by John Piper, A Hunger For God by John Piper, and The Bruised Reed by Richard Sibbes. All three are very good, especially the book by Sibbes, who was a Puritan minister in the early 17th century.

God Bless,
Neal

Priscilla Ann, I finished reading this book this weekend. What a profound and riveting portrayal of God's redeeming love. I agree with you, with a slight alteration...I believe it is THE best Christian novel I have ever read!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed "Redeeming Love".

What are you going to read next? I am reading Dee Henderson's "True Honor". It's not as intense as "Redeeming Love", but still good.

Priscilla Ann, as far as Christian fiction, I have a couple of Terri Blackstock books I am going to read next, "Cape Refuge" and "Southern Storm". But I'm going to wait awhile to start them..."Redeeming Love" was so good, I want to think about it for awhile before I dive into another book!

I have tried to read Dee Henderson and for some reason, just can't get "into" her books. No idea why.

A kind friend just suprised me by sending me "God's Smuggler" in the mail! VERY neat book. I've been busy reading that yesterday and today, but now seem to have misplaced it. GRRR! Unless...someone smuggled it out of my house.

I have read "Cape Refuge" and "Southern Storm" and really enjoyed both of them. I thought that "Southern Storm" was actually better than the first one, "Cape Refuge". They are both good reading if you like mystery/suspense.

Dee Henderson was a little hard for me to get into at first. I read the "Truth Seeker" first --actually I didn't make it all the way through as it did not hold my interest. After a few months, I read one of the other books of the O'Malley series and then I was hooked. I liked the way she integrated faith into her stories.

Goodness, it must sound like all I do is read!
(Diet Coke and reading are my two vices!)

Happy Reading!

I am reading George Marsden's new biography of Jonathon Edwards. Unfortunately, my reading is on hold til Wed night as I left the book at church on Sunday night & can't pick it up til then.

It's a good book so far.

It's better than leaving a book on an airplane! I ended up buying the book over again since I was only half way through!

I just received the old Creation/Evolution foundational classic, "A History of The Warfare of Science and Theology in Chrisendom" (1955) by Andrew White. And a hardback edition of Bernard Ramm's "The Christian View of Science and Scripture" (1954) as well as Erickson's "Christian Theology".

I found them at a old book search engine site. It searches for the book and provides
prices too.

I have just started that one as well. I'm a little less than a quarter of the way through. Marsden's work is probably a bit more accurate and slightly less glowing than Iain Murray's treatment of J. Edwards.

Leon McBeth's "The Baptist Heritage" has just arrived in the mail. This is a long-term project.

The Bible, hehee. Also "A Woman's Journey With God" by Mary Prince and "Me? Obey Him?" by Elizabeth Rice Handford. The first book given to me by Diane is full of encouraging quotes and scriptures. The second book given to me by my mother in law about 2 Christmases ago deals with a wife's submission to her husband (very wonderful reading for those women who don't agree with the man being over the woman)

I just finished " The Rescue " by Lori Wick for the THIRD TIME{Oh wow, her books are great!} and I'm in the middle of Forever Settled by Jack Moorman. I'm learning some interesting things from it! Soon I'm going to start a peice of Christian fiction titled Reunions and I'm as always in Proverbs. I'm also in Ezekial, and Galations. It's amazing cause no matter how many times I read a passage in God's Word, I can see somethign new! That's something precious about the Bible!
I've also got to read "The Pit and the Pendulim" by Edger Allen Poe for school. I'm not sure what to expect that's for sure!
I saw a book by Francine Rivers the other day. Is she a good author?

I am reading "The Three Central Issues in Contemporary Dispensationalism" with Herbert W. Bateman as General Editor. All I can say is I am on page 70 and already my head hurts!!

P.S. Miss Abby, I am personally acquainted with Jack Moorman, who ministers in Wimbledon, London. Anything he writes on the Bible is sure to be good!
