I am currently re-reading Macaulay's Essay on Milton. Macaulay was a Christian and looks at Milton from that viewpoint. A very interesting read, if you are interested in John Milton's writing and theology.

Cheers,

Jim

I am now reading a book by a liberal who I never thought I would ever agree with him about anything. The book is "The Case for Israel" by Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz. Dershowitz lists all the accusations leveled against Israel by Pro-Palestinian Terrorist groups and disproves them legally, historically, and from a moral standpoint. I don't agree with some of his political conclusions, but overall it has been a great read so far. He not only shows how the accusations against Israel are not only false, but how they are double standards rooted in anti-semitic bigotry from the Palestinians and pro Palestinian groups such as the UN, Amnesty International, Nelson Mandela, etc...

I highly recommend it for those who would like to hear a fair case for Israel that isn't based on some kinda Premill zionists view. Instead it is based on History, Law, and moral standards.

I just read Men Are Clams, Women Are Crowbars. It's both hilarious and, as far as I can tell, helpful. You can read excerpts at Amazon.

P.S. Miss Abby, I am personally acquainted with Jack Moorman, who ministers in Wimbledon, London. Anything he writes on the Bible is sure to be good!
I don't doubt that! It's great! Whenever ya see him again, if ya think to, tell him there's a fifteen year old gal in the south US who has learned from it and found it a blessing!
Taufsgesinnter, The title of that book gave a good chuckle! But I'll bet {I can hardly beleive me, being female is going to say this!} that books title itself has quite a bit of truth to it!

A very thin book -- The Grace of God in the
Gospel
by John Cheeseman, Philip Gardner,
Michael Sadgrove, and Tom Wright. And since
I am still unlearning Arminianism, I will need to
read it again, and in a few months, read it again.

How Ronald Reagan Changed My Life by Peter Robinson

Gulag by Anne Applebaum

The one-volume edition of Alexander Hamilton's writings published by Library of America.

And just started Red Rabbit by Tom Clancy.

Joseph, the Dershowitz book sounds interesting. Like you, I can't imagine agreeing with anything he could write but that one sounds very interesting.

Just finished reading Dershowitzs' book: "The Case For Israel". Overall, I have to say it is a pretty outstanding book.

From The Right,

Go get this book and check it out. For the most part, I think you will enjoy this book. Some of his other liberal political agendas do come out in some examples used, but overall it is very good and very well written. He says many things that I have long thought for a long time and confirms them with lots of documented evidence. I highly reccomend this book.

I just started Theodore Rex by Edmund Morris. I had read his previous The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt and really liked his biography style.

I am at the end of a furious stack of books that included:

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis (Interesting, to me, take on things.)

1984 and Animal Farm by George Orwell (Somehow I made it through school without being required to read these.)

The whole 2001 series by Arthur C. Clarke. (The occasional sci-fi is interesting.)

I have two books going at the moment (besides the Bible, of course). "This Present Darkness," which I am re-reading for about the 100th time (at least :D ), and "The Long Walk" by Richard Bachman (a.k.a. Stephen King).

I'm thinking about picking up a copy of "Soon" by Jerry Jenkins. Has anyone read it yet? If so, what are your thoughts/comments?

God Bless!!!

I am reading Capture His Heart (Becoming the Godly Wife Your Husband Desires) by Lysa Terkeurst. I also purchased its counterpart, Capture Her Heart for my husband. I only started it, but so far it is pretty good.

Hello,

I am about halfway through Dr. Douglas Stauffer's "One Book Stands Alone." It is a work that deals with modern versions vs. the KJB. It is laid out very well, taking key doctrines and lining them up against each other.

Very good reading.

God bless,

Emory

Wow.

Four hours have passed since I posted that I was going to read "Soon," the new book by Jerry Jenkins. And not ONE anti-premillenialist has responded yet with "Don't read that claptrap! Jerry Jenkins and his Left Behind books are all wrong/heretical/bad fiction/unbiblical, and 'Soon' will no doubt be worse!!!"

Oh I'll bet that is good!
I'm wanting to read "Things That Are Diffrent Are Not The Same." also dealing with that subject.
