I am currently reading Finding Peace by Charles Stanley. Love it. But even more, I believe it is a divine appointment for me to read it at this time in my life.
Also, lately I have read some fiction from Terri Blackstock.
Read a little bit so far in Charles Stanley's Eternal Security. Also, going through His Institute course online which I mention because it also, in my opinion, is a study, except online.
Truly, God is in control and has placed such comforting books in my life at this time.

I just started The Power Of A Praying Wife. My husband told me he does not believe in God. We were both raised Catholic, but he stopped going to church after he was confirmed. NOw I am trying to raise my daughter as a Christian...I wonder if this book can help me to be a better wife and be an example for my husband...he's a tough nut to crack....

Moira,
May I suggest a worthy book, and one that is not to expensive.

The Fight; the Christian Struggle by Dr. John B. White, InterVarsity Press,,about $9.00 US and can be had online at the InterVarsity Press site.

It is a good foundation read and a good book to leave laying about where your husband may pick it up when no one is looking.

Cheers,

Jim

Just finished Beverly Lewis' "Abram's Daughters - The Covenant" and am half way through "Abram's Daughters - The Betrayal"

Great books - great reading.

Her book "The Redemption of Sarah Cain" got me interested in the Amish. Since then I have purchased and read all her books on the Amish.

I finished "The Betrayal" yesterday - now I have to wait until May 2004 before the final book in the triology is available.

Now I'm going to read "Armageddon" - Left Behind Series.

It is meant for pastors, and I wish many of them would read it.

Re-reading, Notes From My Bible, D.L. Moody.

Very good reading for toenail comments on various biblical themes. Goes through the Bible from beginning to end.

Also, The Vertical Mosaic by John Porter. An analysis of social class and power in Canada up to 1967.

Cheers,

Jim

Currently reading:

Judicial Activism by Christopher Wolfe
Real Threat and Mere Shadow: Religious Liberty and the First Amendment by Daniel Dreisbach
The Homosexual Agenda by Alan Sears
Alexander Hamilton's Writings (one volume Library of America edition)

BTW, FMeekins, Slouching Toward Gomorrhah is an excellent book. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I disagree with Bork on a couple of constitutional law issues but the book is an excellent diagnosis of our situation.
